UNITED STATES MADE POPULAR IN ALBANIA BY RED CROSS WORK
(By Associated Press) ir.RiSRAK. Albania. Nov. 16. One
of the cheering Bights that greets the j American visitor to Albania i3 the American flag. In all the larger towns , the stars and stripes may be seen j side by side with the colors of Albania. ; This is the outgrowth of the work of j the American Red Cross which established hospitals and orphanages in the, principal towns. Most of the Ameri-j can relief workers have now with-; drawn, but the native Albanians have j kept the American colors flying as j evidence of their appreciation and j gratitude to their benefactors. j Italy's action in withdrawing from; Albania has given fresh impetus and j strength to the Albanian yearning for complete independence and freedom from foreign protectorates or man-; dates. But the country is scarcely I strong enough to stand alone. She: needs the aid of England or America: to enable her to become a virile, selfsupporting, self-governing state. j The country is extremely primitive, i There is not a single mile of passenger railroad, not a telegraph wire, not a mile of good highways, not a news-1 paper or a postoffice. It required! eight days for The Associated Press correspondent to travel from Scutari tn lfnrit79. a distance of about 125 I
miles. The journey had to be made on horseback, which is the only form of conveyance outside of the immemorial ox-cart. Albanians Patriotic Though Albania is divided between Mohammedan and Christian and further divided by the existence of different sects of both these religions, the national consciousness is predominant everywhere except in very few communities in the south where Greek influence has reached in through the medium of the Orthodox church. Every Albanian is an Albanian first and inherits a tradition which has, through many generations, prohibited religious persecutions of anv sort. The Albanian is a good business man; a good soldier. He is extremely independent. His great fault grows out of the fact that the only means of punishing murder and certain other heinous crimes is by personal vengeance.

The photographs show Mrs. Harding in characteristic poses. The one on top shows her alighting from an engine in which she and her husband rode from one town to another during his campaign. At the right is a formal picture of Mrs. Harding, showing her as she will look at White House receptions. The other pictures are snapshots taken recently.
Mrs. Warren G. Harding, wife of the president-elect, has a reputation of being a "real woman." Her friends, most of whom know her as Florence, say she is well fitted for the duties of a president's wife because "she has a mind of her own, generally manages to get what she wants, is thoroughly democratic, likes to give and go to parties, is interested in a hundred and one things, knows how to talk to everyone, including men, and once she knows you, always knows you." She is known as a generous, kindly woman whose success has not gone to her head.

Movie Operator Has Entertained Many Thousands On Job 16 Years, Macey Now Assumes Role of Helper By Indorsing Trutona - Earl Macey, 415 East Willard street. Muncie, who has furnished amusement for thousands in the past sixteen years that he has operated the picture machine at a popular Muncie movie house, is not contented with being only an entertainer. Mr. Macey has also assumed the role of helper in making the following indorsement of Trutona: "Sixteen years in work that was
very confining had begun to tell on my system. My appetite had become poor and I was constantly annoyed by a tired, listless feeling. 1 was very restless and nervous, too. But I simply feel 100 per cent better since taking Trutona. My appetite is much better now and that's not all I sleep soundly at night and I'm not always feoling tired and listless any more. In fact, Trutona's bringing back my oldtime 'pep'." Sleeplessness, nervousness, loss of appetite and the like troubles from which Mr. Macey suffered, all bespeak a rundown system. Now is the time to get after that rundown system, folks. Remember a good healthy body almost invariably wards off attacks of influenza, pneumonia and the like. Trutona is sold in Richmond at Clem Thistlethwaite's Drug Stores Advertisement.
