WINCHESTER WOMAN SERIOUSLY BURNED IN SUICIDE ATTEMPT

WINCHESTER, Ind., Nov., 10 Mrs. Elwood LaiSurfc, u8 years old, is in a critical condition and will probably die from the effects, of burns received when she attempted to take her life here today. Early Monday morning she arose and went down stairs clad in her night clothes, which she saturated with kerosene and then pet on Are. Her husband hearing a commotion in the kitchen ran down stairs and attempted to smother the flames and was himself painfully burned. Mrs. leisure has been in ill health for over a year. - ' Leave For California. Dr. Marshall Welbourn, of Union City, will leave in a few days for LosAngeles, Calif., where he with his two brothers. County Board of Education, Tuesday, arrangements were completed for the observance of educational week, in all townships, during the week of Novemer 13 to 20. At this time educational problems peculiar to each township will be discussed and citizen" of the various townships will be aked to give talks on these subjects. Musical proprams will also be given. Pastors of all Randolph county churches will be asked to preach educational sermons on next Sunday. The Board or Education also decided at the meeting to procure a county health nurse, through the agency of the County Red Cioss society, and to effect, junior Red Cross organizations in all schools' of the county. Union Prayer Service. On Wednesday evening, a union prayer service will be held by all the churches of the city. Dr. and Mrs. E. C. Raciifield returned to Indianapolis.
