FRANK WOOD, EATON, HELD TO GRAND JURY, TROUBLE OVER LEASE
EATON, O., Oct. 8. Frank Wood, farmer, Somera township, 1b held to the grand Jury on a charge of threatening to shoot and kill Jim Bowman, tenant on Wood's farm In Somera township.. Wood entered a plea of not euilty
when arraigned in the court of Justice.

C, Test in Camden and was released upon his own recognizance until, the next grand Jury convenes. - Wood has lately obtained two court restraining orders against Bowman, who occupies under lease, with Wood, the Wood farm. The restraining orders were issued upon allegation of Wood that Bowman had violated terms of the farm lease. One restraining order was dismissed, upon Wood's consent. This was followed by Issuance of another restralner, which still Is in force. Upon Wood's allegation that Bowman violated the court's order, Bowman and two other men have been cited to appear here next Saturday In common pleas court on a charge of contempt of court. Annual election of directors of the
Preble County Red Cross chapter was held here Wednesday afternoon and resulted in election of the following directorate, which will serve during the ensuing year: Mrs. John M. Gale, Mrs. C. F. Ressler, Mrs. A. D. Davis, Dr. II. Z. Silver, Prof. W. S. Fogarty, A. J. Hlesland, J. E. Parker, Harvey H Hawkins, all of Eaton; Mrs. Otto Heeter, Lewisburg; Mrs. Harry Price, Dixon township; Mrs. F. . M. DavlBson, West Manchester; Luclen O. Stubbs, West Elkton; S. S. Hart, Jackson township; Mrs. Charles M. Murray, Campbellstown; ' Mrs. C. H. Harris, New Paris. Annual election of officers of the chapter will be held Nov. 5 in Eaton. Many Political Meetings. County committees of both political parties are "whooping 'er up n Preble county this week the last week of the campaign and meetings at various points are announced. .These Democratio meetings are scheduled: Thursday evening, at Lewisburg, with W. G. Pickrel, candidate for congress, and Judge G. W. Mannix, of Greenville. Friday evening, at Eaton, Judge Mannix and a woman speaker, to be announced. Saturday evening, at West Alexandria, Congressman Warren Gard, W. G. Pickrel, and Judge Mannix. It is expected meetings at other points will be arranged for. Republican meetings announced are:
Thursday night, at Eaton, with Miss, Ossee Penny, of Indianapolis, G. M. Kumler, candidate for state senator; Ralph Sever, candidate for ' county prosecutor. Friday evening, at Eldorado, T. N. Wilson, Dayton; H. D. Silver, candidate for representative. Senator Lake Trammel!, of Florida, and Mrs. Phoebe Suttliff, of Warren, O., addressed a Democratic meeting Wednesday night In the opera house. Mrs. Elizabeth Stanley, president of the Indiana W. C. T. U., discussed the League of Nxtions in a non-partisan meeting in tixon township, Tuesday night T. N. Wilson. Dayton, editor of "Town Topics", spoke before a Republican meeting Wednesday night in New Paris. At Gratis, Wednesday night, Mrs. D. C. Brower, of Dayton; G. M. Kumler and Ralph Sever, county candidates, were the speakers. Eaton Couple Married. Announcement has Just been made of the marriage of Earl Murphy, of Eaton, and Miss Thelma Edington. of Hamilton, which took place October 20, In Hamilton.
