Miss Marie Sanders, daughter of Mr. pnd Mrs. Herman Sanders, and Martin Shalloe, of Columbue, O., were married here Thursday morning at 8 o'clock In the Catholic church by Father J. M. Hyland. They will reside in Columbus. ' Will Attend Conference. County School Superintendent W. S. Fogarty is on the program for an address before an important conference en rural education to be held next week in Terre Haute, Ind. He will speak Tuesday afternoon on "Rural School Education." The conference will be supervised by the federal bureau of education. Postpone Gymnasium Meeting. Contrary to expectations, organization of a gymnasium club was not effected Wednesday night. A meeting called at the armory for the purpose was postponed because of inability of several members of a volley ball team from Richmond. Ind., being unable to be present. It was expected the visitors would have much valuable information to offer in organization of the local club, in, which quite a number of local business men have interested themselves. Bring In Oil Well. Charles Freeh and Ross Fecht, local directors in the Greenville . Oil company, have been advised that the company this week brought in an oil well on Its lease in Darke county. The advices state the well promises to be a

good producer. The company has already developed two wells on its lease. Several people In Eaton and vicinity are said to hold stock in the company.

Chanel exercises Friday morning

were conducted by Professor Ernest Wfldraan. He spoke of the chemical discoveries made during the war and their peace applications. Final tryouts for the Dramatic club were held Thursday evening. Twenty members were selected. The membership probably will me increased at an early date because of the large number of applicants and the closeness of the competition. D., a graduate of the University of Chicago, arrived at Earlham from Indianapolis Friday morning. . He gave a short talk at the close of the chapel exercises after a ' letter of introduction from Amos K. Hallowell, of Indianapolis, had been read. ; Mr. Uesugi has been in America about 10 years He has obtained money for his schooling by lecturing and by the sale of Japanese prints and pictures, of which he has a large number. ' He has lectured at some of the principal churches and colleges of the country. ' . During his stay in Richmond he will have his pictures on display, at Earlham. He will al3o give several lec

tures, although no definite arrangements have been made. It is his intention to fit himself for missionary work before returning to Japan.
