Rent Laws Place Official In His Own Attic, Helpless , (Ry Associated Press) NEW YORK, Oct. 5 Dr. Frederick R. Sanborn, member of the state board of health, today faced the alternative of contesting Mrs. James C. Barker's interpretation of the state admlnisstra-" tion-backed rent laws or giving up the comfortable home in which he had planned to spend the winter. Dr. and Mrs. Sanborn, who had leased their home "for the summer" to Mrs. Barker, returned yesterday to be informed by Mrs. Barker that the rent laws prohibited, her ejection lease or no lease without tedious court proceedings and that she intended to stand by her "rights" and protect her roomers. Dr. Sanborn and his wife "entrenched" in an attic room. Friends threw sandwiches to them through the window. Germany Mast Execute Engagements, French Say (By Associated Press) PARIS, Oct. 5.
