The savages of Dutch Xew Guinea at various times have attacked small ports in the British area. The British government insisted that Holland keep a garrison there; otherwise they would take their portion of New Guinea away from them. But even the protection that was afforded the British government could not protect these two Americans, who pushed on into the heart of the jungle, determined on one thing to secure pictures. Scrimmage will probably be the ordpr of 1 1 1 day during: the first part of the week and then things eased up a little to have the men in good shape for the week-end collision. A same may be arranged between the high school and one of the scrub teams at Karlham the parly part of this week, in order to give the youngsters some practice against a heavier combination than the scrubs of the high school. This would prove very beneficial -to the Red and White prospects for Saturday's contest. Shortridge will have played a game v hen they meet the locals but this is not worrying the high school mentor. He expects his lads to be able to take care of themselves even though many of them have not stacked up in a regular game. The Red and White line is the one biggest weakness and if this comes around in shape there is little doubt but that the locals will give the capital city five a scrap from whistle to whistle.. The aged, faded, or discolored surface skin may be gradually absorbed, in an entirely safe and ra tional manner, by the nightly appli-' cation of ordinary mercolized wax.: Within a week or two the underlying skin, youthful and beautiful to behold, has taken the place of the discarded cuticle. So little of the old skin is; absorbed each day there's no inconvenience at all, and no one suspects ; you are putting anything on your face, j The mercolized wax, procurable at any drug store (an ounce is sufficient), is applied like cold cream. In1 the morning It is erased with soap and I water. It's the best thing known for j freckles, blackhe'ads, pimples, moth patches, liver spots and fine surface wrinkles. For the deeper wrinkles, an excellent recipe is: Powdered saxolite, one ounce, dissolved in one-half pint of witch hazel. Bathing the face in the solution produces quick and wonderful results. DeVou Bartholomew, 21 years old, of Waterloo, Ind , and Cecil Keis, 20, of Orland were killed instantly at Orland, near here, Sunday afternoon when an airplane owned by Bartholomew crumpled under the strain of a long dive and crashed 3,500 feet to earth- In the wreckage was battered a high school boy's dream of flying fame, toward the realization of -which. ' his father hart mortgaged his farm to provide the $5,000 for his aerial training and the biplano which dashed Bartholomew and his young passenger to death. The tragedy is supposed to have resulted from Bartholomew's wavering in an old resolution never to attempt stunts with a passenger. Witnesses declared that Keis had appealed to the flyer for some thrills before they left the ground, but Bartholomew at that time did not consent. Three hits were all the locals could get off Wright of Boston. Miller and Rohe performed well for the losers. Wright pitched good ball for Boston and was given errorless support. necessary to send through the body the steady streams of vital blazing energy that can only come from 100 per cent health and power. In the words of Dr. John J. Rudolph, a former Health Commissioner, late of New York Hospital Staffs and a Graduate of the University of Baltimore: "It is safe to state that nine out of every ten people in this country today would probably be far better oft physically and mentally If they would get more of these life-giving vitamines into their systems. But not until the introduction of a tablet combining the concentrated vitamines -with other nealthbuilding elements, in th eform known to druggists as Vitaraon, was there any means, as far as I can tell, by which the average person could derive anything like the benefits which this places within their reach. So rapid, so pronounced and so amazing are the results I have seen produced by Vitamon, that no matter what any one says, 1 do not believe there Is anything whatsoever to which this discovery can be compared. Not until you have taken Vitamon yourself and watched Its effects in your own case can you form any idea of the vast difference it may make in your health, strength, mental vigor and physical appearance. Vitamon may be taken with benefit by either men or women, at all seasons and surprising results are produced in many cases within a remarkably short space of time." NOTE: Physicians are daily learning more and more about vitamines from articles in the London Lancet and other prominent medical journals while the public have had a chance to read of their great health value in the columns of the Literary ligest. New York Sunday American, Physical Culture Magazine and other leading publications. In countless disorders associated with weakness, anaemia, lack of energy, loss of weight, nervous troubles, sallow skin and a general run-down condition, the astonishing health-building power of vitamines has been clearly demonstrated by mediral research. So confident are the manufacturers of the benefits to be derived from Vitamon, that they make the following unconditional guarantee: If after using Vitamon you are not entirely satisfied with the reaulta nnd nre not convinced thnt It han been worth lo you far more than you paid for It, your drugglat will refund your money and the trial will i-ONt you uhNolutely nothing.
