ELECTION COMMISSION OF PREBLE COUNTY DETERMINES DETAILS
EATON. O., Sept. 25. Members of the board of election of Preble county will be in session here Saturday night to consider matters pertaining to the November election. The board expects to determine If It is necessary to create additional voting precincts in the county in order to properly handle the coming election, says C. C. Fisher, clerk of the board. The board has already given notice that the township of Jackson will be divided into two precincts. Judgment Obtained. Judgment for $550 has been obtained in common pleas court against Frank Burd by the Glmbel Motor Car company, of Hamilton, operated by Elliott and Birdie Gimbel. An action brought by the First National Bank of Camden, against Harry Bittle to recover $392 has been compromised and dismissed. H. S. Triumphs. Play will be called at 2:30. Hubbell Funeral. Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Hubbell, wife of the late Sweeny Hubbell. who died Thursday, were conducted Saturday afternoon at her late home by the Rev. Indians and Sox Clash For Last Game of Season CLEVELAND, O.. Sept. 25. The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago White Sox met today for the last time this season. The game also marks the closing of the American League season in Cleveland, and preparations had been made to accommodate the largest Saturday crowd of the year. I It was impossible for the Sox to replace the locals, but they hoped to reduce Ihe Indians' lead to half a game. LEGION COMMANDER ! TALKS TO AUXILIARY; TELLS POST PLANS Commander George B. Hunt 6t the American Legion addressed the meeting of the Women's Auxiliary of the Legion held at the Post rooms Friday afternoon. Dr. Hunt explained In detail the government insurance system and the difference made In the case of partial disability and total disabiUty. Dr. Hunt said that service men should not drop their insurance. Out of 4.600.000 men who took out Insur ance, 4,000,000 have discontinued it. Commander Hunt stated. This is due to the fact that the system was very complicated for a time but that has been changed, he said. He urged that the men continue the Insurance or that their families do it if they did not. Arrangements are being made by the women to take care of sick and disabled soldiers and their families here. Dr. Hunt will co-operate with them In this work, he stated. Plan Celebration. Plans are being made for a big Armistice day celebration. Dr. Hunt said. Representatives from 40 city organizations will meet in the Legion rooms, Monday evening, to make arrangements for the big day, on which every service man is to wear his uniform all day. In the parade in the afternoon there will be 2,000 soldiers in platoon formation. The parade will be followed by a football game by the Legion's teams and In the evening there will be a dance at which every service man will wear his uniform. The Women's Auxiliary appointed their president, Mrs. A. W. Roach, as their representative at the meeting Monday evening to begin plans for Armistice day. Hagerstown Couple Wed; Enter Depauw University HAGERSTOWN. IND., Sept. 25 A marriage of interest to Hagerstown people occured Sunday, SepL 19, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. H. Vandervort, near Noblesville, Ind., when their daughter, Madge Leone, was united to Robert B. Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grafton Stewart, of Hagerstown, Ind. Miss Fern Stewart sister of the groom, sang "Oh, Promise Me." preceeding the ceremony. Immediately after the nuptials were pronounced by the bride's father a dinner was served. The bride's dress was of heavily beaded white georgette over white satin, with a corsage boquet of white and red carnations. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart departed Monday for their new home, at 5 Park street, in Greencastle, Ind. Both young people are enrolled as students in Depauw University, where they will major in an English-public speaking course. Mrs. Stewart was a student In the Lain Business college in Indianapolis last year. Mr. Stewart, who was president of the Hagerstown high school, class of 1917, and graduated from the Indianapolis Law School of Indianapolis last June. He has beet admitted to the bar of the various state courts and to the bar of the United States district court, but has taken up the work of the ministry in the Methodist church. Only the immediate families of the bride and bridegroom and a few intimate friends, including Miss Eva Coy of Kirklin, Ind., M. M. Knapp of Hagerstown, and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Timons, were present. Sept. 25 The national commission will meet in Chicago Monday, to arrange for the world series games, John E. Bruce, secretary of the commission, announced here today.
