The Farm and The Farmer By William R. Sanborn
They are still doing a little "barn threshing" around Eldorado, but this Is the wind-up for the year, according to A. V. McClure, who says they have taken in 2.000 bushels of wheat this
week and have been paying fz.io ior It, at least up to Thursday. Three cars
were loaded this week, the nrsi in some days.
Mr. McClure says that he knows oi
no silos being filled, so far, and that
silos are very scarce near Ms town, "there being less than a half dozen In a three mile radius of Eldorado. He also considers that oats are too low and says that oats at present prices are cheaper than baled hay. "For instance," said he, "at 64 cents per bushel, oats are worth $40 a ton. They are not bringing that money, but fine hay comes pretty near doing it The bulk of the tobacco around Eldorado is now hanging in the barns. Grows Big Sunflowers. Amid a display of vegetables at a
local bank Is a mammoth sunflower, grown by Charles Anderson, of Bethel. The seed diameter is given at 15 inches and the outside circumference of the seed at 55 inches. Mr. Anderson says that sunflower seed makes a fine feed,
not only for poultry, but in proper pro
portions is valuable for stock. Corn Ripening Fast. The manager of the elevator at Econ
omy says: "I don't think there is a
single car of old corn around here to
sell at any price but the crop is ripening fast and a little of it wouldn't be hurt by a light frost. Our fanners
raise a lot of corn but they feed it and a car seldom goes out. Three or
four crews have just started silo filling and in a short time all our corn will be ready for them. Not a great deal of clover has been threshed here. Rain is needed for the pastures. Selling Indiana Coal at $10. The Farmers' elevator at Centerville reports a little Indiana coal on hand which they are selling at $10 from the bin and $10.50 delivered in
town. As to anthracite they have a l
promise of one car to come in during L
September and another to follow shortly after. This coal has been looked for weekly for a long time. Clover threshing seems to be over and silo filling well under way.Corn Below $1 at Chicago. Seemed rather at ranee, didn't it. to
note Chicago corn quoted at $1 perj
Dusnel on Thursday? May corn closed : at $1 and December at 99 V4 cents, with
September $l.Z7, alter selling at $1.26 during the session. The weather

Dublin Fair Paid Out. W. B. Woodward, of Dublin, says that the people of Dublin and vicinity were well satisfied with the results of the free fair and homecoming. The attendance was large, everyone had a good time, the show was all right, the premiums have all been paid and there is still a little money in the treasury. Mr. Woodward says there is no grain coming in and that silo filling begun this week. A good rain would help fall pasturage. Most Corn Safe.
The latest government weekly corn
crop report stated that the bulk ot the Nebraska corn is now safe and that about 50 per cent of the Iowa crop is out of danger. It also figured that the bulk of the Michigan and Wisconsin corn Would be out of danger by the
last of this month.
An annual plowing match is held at Wheatland, 111., Just out of Chicago, which is open to plowmen of the world. Last year some 12,000 people attended
that event and it is expected that more will be present this year. Chief Inter
est now centers in the tractor plow competition.

Be sure to get real Resinol
If you want to get rid of eetema, pimples, or other distressing skin eruption, you will accept no "substitute" for Resinol. Preparations similar in name or appearance are ttol "just the same as Resinol." Although a few unscrupulous dealers may offer them as or for Resinol, they are often crudely made, of little healing power, and some may even be dangerous to use. Buy in the original blue package. A Woman Likes To Be Admired, No Matter How Old She May Be
Nature undoubtedly made woman to be admired, and maa to admire her. No -woman ever gets so old that she doesn't want admiration, and no man ever gets beyond admiring her. Good looks in woman do not depend upon age, but upon health. A woman's health depends more upon the distinctly feminine organism than upon anything else. Between that organism
and her beauty there is the closest connection. You never see a good-looking woman who is weak, run-down, irritable, out of sorts, fidgety and nervous. Headaches, backaches, dragging-down, pains, irregularities and troubles of that sort are all destroyers of beauty. Men do not admire sickness. It is within the reach of every woman to be well, healthy and strong if she will take Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription. It is the safest woman's tonic because it is made entirely of roots and herbs, without alcohol.' (Ingredients on label.) It is 50 years old, and its age testifies to its goodness. A medicine that has made 6ick women well for half a century is surely good to take. .Women from every part of America testify to its merits. f Send 10c to Dr. Pierce's Invalids' Hotel in Buffalo, N. T., for a trial package and confidential medical advice, or booklet.
