STEPTOE GAS LAW IS INEQUITABLE, EXPERT TESTIFIES IN HEARING Samuel S. Wyer, Qolumbus. Ohio, consulting engineer for the United States Bureau of Mines, testified at Tuesdays session of the Steptoe hearing In Pittsburg, as to the disposition of gas from the West Virginia fields, end as to the equipments, lines and stations of different companies. Oas used in Richmond is taken from the West Virginia fields and consumers here are affected by the decision in the Steptoe hearing. The Steptoe case is one in which the states of Pennsylvania and Ohio are seeking to prevent West Virginia from withholding gas from West Virginia wells until the consumers and inhabitants there have been supplied. Shows Gas Needed. Mr. Wyer gave statistics showing the amount of gas necessary to supply West Virginia consumers, and the amount remaining for Pennsylvania and Ohio. He also showed the number of towns and cities receiving their gas supply from West Virginia, and which could not be supplied elseMr. Wyer was subjected to a severe cross examination Tuesday afternoon by the attorneys for the state of West Virginia, who failed to shake his contention that the Steptoe act is inequitable, and will work injury to the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania. The hearing will conclude here Wednesday, after which testimony will ba taken in Ohio and West Virginia.

MURRETTE The remarkable success of "Miss Hobbs," the first Wanda Hawley starring production, created such a furore in this city that Manager Holland of the Murrette Theatre has been besieged with questions as to when the young comedienne's second starring photoplay would be shown. He Is now able to announce that "Food for Scandal," adapted from the Paul Kester farce, "Beverly Balance," will be presented Wednesday and Thursday. Miss Hawley is again supported by Harrlon Ford and a cast equal in ability to that which made such a success of the star's initial offering. MURRAY Frederick Stanton, leading man with Madlaine Traverse in "The Spirit of Good," showing at the Murray, is the same Frederick Stanton whose name was prominent in newspaper sporting pages until recently. His transfer to the dramatic news columns is the result of an accident to his pitching arm. If it had not been for the failure of his arm Mr. Stanton might never have known that he had the makings of an actor, and might now be playing big league instead of playing in William Fox screen productions.

Cured His RUPTURE" I was badly ruptured while lifting; a trunk several years ago. Doctors said my only hope ol cure was an operation. Trusses did me no good. Finally I got hold of something that quickly and completely cured me. Years have passed and the rupture has never returned, although I am doing hard work as a carpenter. There was no operation, no lost time, no trouble. I have nothing to sell, but will give full information about how you may find a complete cure without operation, if yov write to me, Eugene M.
