WOMAN SUES TWICE FOR DIVORCE; CHICKEN THIEVES GROW BOLD

EATON, O.. Sept. 18. Within the last 10 months Mary E. Studebaker has twice sued Wilbert Studebaker for divorce, alimony, custody of child and partition of real estate. Her first suit was filed in November of last year and three months later it was compromised settled and dismissed from common pleas court without record. Her second suit was filed Friday in common pleas court. In both her suits Mrs. Studebaker charged her husband with extreme cruelty and gross neglect She seeks custody of their youngest child, Gus, ged 16. They have two other children who are of age. In her complaint she states she is 53 years old. Embattled Residents Combine. As a result of an epidemic of chicken stealing that has prevailed' in sections of Preble county the last few months, the Twin Township Improvement association, an organization of farmers, has taken the initiative to combat the thieves. The organization announces a meeting at an early date for the pur

pose of devising ways and means for putting the hen-roost raiders out of commission, Particularly has the eastern section of the county suffered at

the bands of the fowl grabbers. In announcing the coming meeting the Improvement association extends an invitation to all townships to join in the movement. It is hoped to form a county organization to protect the farmers in all sections from the chicken thief. . Edgar Will Speak. Announcement that L. B. Edgar, state superintendent of adult work in Sunday schools, will be present and deliver an address has given added interest to the conference of Sunday school forces of Preble county to be held Sunday afternoon in Eaton, in the Christian church. Inspector to End Work. Inspector C. H. Churchill of the state bureau of public inspection and accounting , expects to complete his work of inspection of Preble county offices and their records within th.e next few days.

As a Woman Thinketh By Helen Rowland

(Copyright. 1920. by The Wheeler Syndicate. Inc.) WHAT A WOMAN CAN DO WITHOUT The Cynic has said in his heart, "O woman wants EVERYTHING at least, everything she sees, "Or happens to think ot!" But it's not true! There are thousands of things that

a woman could do without quite hap

pily! Oh, thousands of them! Birthdays, for instance. And "kidding", and double-chins, and jazz! Those cute, little mustaches, the men are wearing And the mustached kiss!

Dancing men, pure and simple for

though, not all of them may be pure, most dancing men ARE simple! ' Custard-pie motion pictures, Beautiful trained-nurses, A jealous disposition, A Jealous husband, Breakfasttable persiflage. Freckles.

Criticism especially the homemade kind. The attentions of married flirts and summer widowers. Men who "drop in" unexpectedly, "Fireside companions" the "come early and never know when to go home" variety, Who bring candy an eat it all up, themselves. The man who insists on telling how he became "a success", The man with the "Ummm" habit, Egotists, poseurs, golf-fiends, motormaniacs, professional cynics, Men who think a woman is something to be "jollied." Men who think a woman is something to be "reformed", Men who think a woman is something to be "dodged", Men who say, "A woman is only a

woman but a good cigar is a smoke!" j and fancy they are quoting from the Bible or Hamlet. Sunburn, wind-burn, heartaches, superfluous flesh. And confirmed bachelors!

These are some of the thousand-and-one things - that a woman could do without, But the things that she CANNOT do without Are Love, Sympathy, Admiration, Work, Kisses, the Right Sort of Clothes And at least One Husband!

The Seven Keys to Happiness for

Women!

Yet, somehow, the moment a woman

finds one ot them she seems to lose

another, and the woman who holds all seven keys at once is as rare as she Is blessed. 'That's why a woman is

always "WANTING something", no matter what she HAS! For alas, it takes ajll seven of these Magic Keys to open the door to Complete Happiness for any woman!

DISASTER RECALLS ATTEMPTS ON LIVES OF TWO MEN NEW YORK, Sept. 18. Thursday's disaster recalls the attempted assassi

nation, of J. P. Morgan at his summer home In Glen Cove, N. Y., on July 3, 1915, and the bomb "hold-up" of the late Russell Sage's office In lower Broadway in-1891. Mr. Morgan was shot and badly wounded by Frank Holt, a maniac, who entered the banker's home by threatening servants with two revolvers. He was afterward identified as Erich Muenter, who had been an instructor at Cornell university and also served in a similar capacity at Harvard. After his arrest Holt confessed that he set off a bomb in

the Senate reception room In Washington on July 2, 1915.

What's In a Name (Copyright)

ALEXANDRA. Alexandra Is a famous name. It is a feminine version of the title of the 11 lustrous conqueror, Alexander the Great. It was popular in all the countries through which the peerless Alexander swept, and for years after hi 3 triumphant passage, all male children were called after his name. Alexan

dres was a favorite name in Greece !

The Maccabean Jews used it, and a martyred pope made it a revered name in Italy. The feminine was brought to Scotland by Margaret Aetheling, who learned it at the Hungarian court, where she was born and reared. Alexa, Alexandra, and Alexandrina are several of its forms. Alexia is often found as a woman's name in old records and accounts of the Middle Ages. Alexandra is widely popular in Germany and Russia, as well as In the other Continental nations. It has seldom had much vogue in England, except as a feminine name to perpetuate the masculine Alexander, where there have not been sons to carry on the title. But curiously enough, it is a favorite in this country. The splendid ruby is Alexandra's talismanic gem. It is fitting that this emblem of courage and accomplish ment and bodily vigor should be her
