WORKS OF FORMER SHEPHERD BOY NEWEST SENSATION IN ART WORLD Paul Darde of France, once a
shepherd boy, is the newest sensation in the art world. With his new masterpiece, "The Faun," he carried off the coveted "prix national" at the Paris Salon this year. Although he has had no art education and works with a pickaxe, he is declared to be the greatest living sculptor. A Paris critic writes of The Faun that it is "carved out of fine rock, of a tint so warm that it seems animated by the hot blood of primitive beings scar.e liberated from matter."
