The Diary of an Engaged Girl
By Phyllis Phillips
Jack came early this evening, and terribly much that sometimes 1 fear we had the loveliest time. Told him that there is a lot of trouble ahead all about my work on the Leader, and I for one named Lindsey. I seem to be how I had been commandeered by Mr j insatiable, and they tell me that that

He seemed so pleased, dear boy, to find that I was just as natural and affectionate as ever, despite my leap into the limelight, and right there 1 gathered from his conversation that he had rather expected me to change,

DUBLIN GETS PERMIT TO SELL LIGHT BONDS
Authority to Issue and sell at not less than par, $10,000 of serial 6 per cent bonds for the purpose of constructing an electric distribution system in Dublin, was handed down by the Pblic Service commission last week. The current will be purchased from the T. H. I. and E. Traction company. The construction cost of the electric plant at Dublin is estimated at $9,700. It will be necessary to install a transformer, tower and switching equipment estimated to cost $1,600. The commission has no authority to approve or disapprove the petitioner's plan to construct the -proposed distribution system but has jurisdiction over the issuance of bonds by the town to pay for the plant. The hearing brought out that the valuation of the taxables of Dublin as
of December 31, 1919, is $523,942, that' no bonds are outstanding against the ; town except approximately $750 of ;
street Donas and alley improvement bonds which are liens upon the property of the property holders.
is not much worried about it, so It
would seem, and 60 1 think I shall let the future take care of Itself and Jack of me! Aunt Cecilia had her Jeff with her all evening, too. They were in the next room, and very, very quiet; ro I judge, very ecstatic and happy. My, what love does do to one's uair auu eyes? And as for the rest of one, well, words fail me. It Is the greatest elixir In the world.
I Just know that I shall do som wonderful work after I am married, for If this Is just a sample of joys to come Well, after sesing my Jean. I can Imagine that I. too, will be as happy; and my work of course will be richer, even as my nature Is enriched. It's such a beautiful thought, this. I feel radiantly happy tonight (To be continued.)
pose that their men suffer from same. But not so with yours truly's little bean nay, nay. I am the cool, composed, poised young thing that I have always been, and intend to stay thus-
ly for a long while. Jack was more adoring than he has
been for a long tme. I guess it was i
the reaction at discovering that his Lindsey was as completely all his own as ever before. Truth to tell, there is nothing like success, plus hard work, for making a girl appreciate a lot of loving from the man of her heart.! That's strictly entre-nous. But doesn't it stand to reason that after tolling and doing something that is worth while one should want to
come home and teU it all to one's i lover, and hear him marvel, and hug one with delight? Why, that's half;
the fun of being successful. My dear old Jack played up to my emotions to a T. I felt like a goddess, and yet I also felt very small and young and clinging when I felt his husky arms drawing me closer and closer to hjim, and his warm, young breath on my eyes and lips. What could Succuss, of any or all varieties, offer me sweeter than this? The answer is simple, for all who have been loved. hn how I want to be loved so

pelled Llew.
The first Llew was the king of the Orkneys, who married King Arthur's sister and was the father of Gwalchmai. From this name was formed the masculine Llewelyn of romance. Another Llewelyn came over to Ireland with Richard Strongbow. History does not record when and where the feminine Luella was formed.
jit. seems merely to have sprung up in I England when the need arose for a
feminine counterpart to the popular Llewelyn, who rapidly became Lionel under the magic touch of romance and
i poetry. Luella has had much more
vogue in this country than in her native Wales. It is considered rather quaint and old-fashioned nowadays, but it is still in common usage. The ruby is Luella's talismanlo stone. It will keep her strong and healthy and will bring her material wealth. Friday is her lucky day and 6 her lucky number.

From 10 to 50 Miles Per Hour in 16 Seconds THE Marmon does not have to rely on fancy-worded claims for its appeal. It can point to actualities in performance. In recent tests for acceleration the new series Marmon accelerated from 10 to 50 miles per hour in high gear in 15.8 seconds. These tests were made with a standard seven passenger Marmon, the car being fully equipped for the road, with top and windshield up, with spare wheel and tire, and with tire, gas, oil and water compartments filled gear ratio 4 to 1. The car carried a driver and an official observer from the Class Journal Company, publishers of automobile trade papers. Let us tell you of other interesting performance tests that were made. Or better still, let us show you the abilities of the new series Marmon in an actual demonstration. NORDYKE & MARMON COMPANY ltaUuKed liii is u INDIANAPOLIS
