Trouser pockets, a cute little niche under the feminine garter, old shoes and tin cans are more popular as depositories of money in Richmond than authorized banking institutions, . local bankers say. The majority of citizens of Richmond are guilty of the "economic crime" of carrying large sums of money in their pockets, according to the bankers. It is only the minority, they say, that has become educated to the plan of depositing their money in the banks, paying their bills by check and carrying only enough money for Immediate needs. Rankers nolnt out that one of the
best ways to reduce the high cost of living is for people to empty their pockets weekly and place their money
in the bank or invest tt so tnat u may be an active working factor. The ftlvantaees are all one sided,
the bankers declare. Money carried
in pockets has a tendency to "burn
them. Many purchases are made when men have only to reach carelessly
down in their pockets, that would not be made if they had to take time to write out. a check. . Writing of the
check would give time for reflection that would ' result many times la a
decision that the purchase was un necessary. Saving May Become Habit.
Saving becomes a habit with people who deposit their money regularly and
as such becomes natural and easy. Another advantage of banking money, officials point out, is the fact that it Is easy to lose money carried in the pockets and in "the First National Bank." The faces of young people are those most rarely seen In front of the bars of the bank cages, according to local cashiers. Girls either do not make only enough money for their living expenses or they spend their salaries for clothes, as their names rarely appear on depositors' slips. The young men are apparently heedless of the fact that every dollar saved now wjll buy two or three dollars' worth in the future. The man who comes most regularly through the revolving doors of local banks, all bankers agree, Is the married man who has to pay rent for a couple of rooms and an ice box and buys shoes for three or four, or maybe more.

Science At Last Discovers a Subtle
Secret of How Any Woman Who Is Nervous, Irritable and Rundown May Quickly Increase Her Strength and Make Herself Far More Lovely and Attractive Without Cosmetics or Stimulating Drugs Physician Explains.
"Fretting and worrying over supposed aliments, restless at night and nervous in the- daytime, thousands of women are seized with fear at the thought of going to a physician and yet go on and on hoping against hope that they will be
better while In reality their weakened, run-down condition becomes steadily worse. These are the women who are the first to show by their sallow complexions, wrinkled faces, hollow cheeks, stooping shoulders and dragging steps that signs of age are rapidly destroying their health, beauty and happiness. If such women could only summon the courage to visit a modern day physician well versed In the latest discoveries of medical science, he would in many cases probably tell them that the true cause of their trouble lay simply in the lack of a nourishing health-building substance called vitamines, which is now lacking in most of the foods we eat every
day. Nature sup
