Increase in auto license fees is made. One car owner said:

"The facts of the case are simply these: "Passenger car license fe fi in Indianapolis are only 10 cents tier horsepower below the average In states where no personal property tax i3 paid on automobiles. "Two federal taxes are j&ld 5 per cent on new cars 5 per ent on all accessories. We also pay personal paroperty tax on autos, same as on alj. other property. "Thousands of log wf:gons, trucks, tractors and threshing machines mutilate the roads and bridges and pay only the personal property tax. "There are yet as nrny steel tired vehicles as automobi s in Indiana, and on them only a personal property tax In paid. "There are six horfjps to every auto in Indiana, and for their iron shod feet only the perse oal property tax Is paid. "Improved state highways enhance the value of adjacent property, but no one is proposing an. abutting property tax. "It certainly is not fair to add 100 per cent to the. present automobile license fee. Gooii roads, of course, are Absolutely essential to progress, Dut the expense shoujd be general, and we do not propose for one minute to sit irtlv by and sea 100 per cent Increase jn license fee on passenger cars owned by the thousands of members of the jvsKOciation, ai well as the general public."

The Theatres

'WASHINGTON. Eugene 'J'Brien, star of many a romance, i the leading character in a Thoto-dranja of politics a Selznick 3'lcture entitled "The Figurehead," which is -showing at the Washington theatre the last time Tuesday. He derlcts the part of a wealthy, well-bred young idler who accepts a romlnaton for Mayor of his city as a lark, but goes into the campaign in earnest after being transformed by the fire of a great love. This does not please the bosses, as they had picked Mm af; a "figurehead" candidate who would be easily defeated by the "macMne" opponent, as arranged for In a secret deal between rival bosses. Thjy "frame up" a scandal on him, whicfli only arouses his fighting ire to the extent of a great combat. WASHINGTON "Hlind Youth," picturized from the famous stage success written by Lou Te'llegen and Willard Mack, comes to the Washington theatre next Friday and Saturday. "Blind Youth" is a picture which must impress all who see it, not only by the dramatic quality of the plot development, but by the careful attention that is given to every detail which

Actually Removes Hair Roots Something New!

To have the superfluous hairs come cut, roots and all, before one's very eyes, sounds almost too good to be true. Yet many thousands of women have proved to their own satisfaction that this can be accomplished easily, quickly, harmlessly by means of the wonderful phelactine process. This method Is not to be compared et all with any liquid, powder or paste, nor with electrolysis or anything else. Nothing like it ever originated. It causes the hairs to come out entire, roots included, leaving the skin smooth and hairless as a babe's Phelactine is non-odorous, non-irritating, non-poisonous a child could safelv eat it. trends to make the portrayal more (realistic. For instance, Maurie Monnier, hero, is a sculptor. He was given special training by a famous Western sculptor in just how to go through the motions

of modeling in clay. Also French offl- j cers who were touring the country I

when the picture was being filmed in ! California were induced to lend their j

services to give atmospnere to masquerade scenes of the Latin Quarter of Paris. Careful attention to detail in "Blind Youth" has resulted in the elimination of those little inconsistencies which can do so much to mar an audience's appreciation of a picture. MURRETTE. A mysterious ghost that lived in a chimney furnishes some of the humorous as well as exciting portions of "A

Splendid Hazard," produced by Allan Dwan, which will be shown at the Murrette Theatre on the first half of the week. A trap is finally laid for the ghost. It is seen, the watchers send several

bullets after the fleeing form and the ;

ghost barely escapes with its spiritual life. Then it is discovered that the ghost has been taking the bricks out of the back of the chimney. The admiral tears it down and finds an old casket left by a French refugee. Thi3 contains a map to a treasure on the isle or Corsica, and the adventurous admiral immediately decided on a treasure hunt. He takes with him his daughter, her suitor and his latest secretary, who is himself after the treasure to further his own schemes. After arriving at Corsica, the secretary steals the map, digs up the treasure and hides it in the sea. He reports to his fellow conspirators. One of them mocks him and the secretary is wounded in a duel. Comes to his bedside a prima donna he had wooed and won and cast aside for his mad ambition. There follows a tremendous climax in which a woman proves the glory of a great love. MURRAY Advance reports declare that Gladys Brockwell, the enchanting "girl of a thousand expressions", has put all the fire and force of her unusual histrionic ability into her portrayal of the leading character in "White Lies." a photoplay from Charles Reade's novel, produced by William Fox, which will open at the Murray Theatre on Monday. The leading scenes in this drama occur in a French chateau, which is said to be an accurate copy of the Chateau de Blois, once a home of Kings of France. With Miss Brockwell in the cast are William Scott, Josephone Crowell, Evans Kirk, Violet Schram, Charles K. French, Howard Scott and Lule Warrenton. The play was directed by Edward J. Le Saint and the scenario was written by Charles Wilson. MURRAY VAUDEVILLE. Despite the popular theory that wild animal trainers go into the cages of the wild beasts heavily armed, Olga, who with her troupe of trained leopards is headlining the vaudeville bill at the Murray theater the first half of the week, goes into the cage armed only with a small riding whip which is hardly capable of making even a small crack. Her only attendant, a man, spends his time in the wings joking with the other performers and appar-

antly paying little attention to the act going on on the stage. The massive cats obey her slightest spoken wish, although they fight and snarl at each other the moment her back is turned. Olga gives a very fine exhibition of her mastery over the treacherous felines and has them under her control at oil Hmo tviou

leap through hoops, perform athletic stunts, eat their raw meat with proper table decorum, all under the resolute will of their mistress. The bill is opened by Bobby Harris and company in an unusual singing skit. Creamer. Barton and Sparling, three young men with harmony voices, score a hit with their singing of "That Super-Sentimental Wonderful Sweetie of Mine" and other popular songs.

There is one sure way that never fails to remove dandruff completely and that is to dissolve it. This destroys it entirely. To do this, just get about four ounces of plain, ordinary liquid arvon; apply it at night when retiring; use enough to moisten the scalp and rub in gently with the finger tips. By morning, most, if not all, of your dandruff will be gone, and three or four more applications will completely dissolve and entirely destroy every single sign and trace of it, no matter how much dandruff you may have. You will find, too, that all itching and digging of the scalp will stop instantly, and your hair will be fluffy, lustrous, glosy, silky and soft, and look and feel a hundred times better. You can get liquid arvon at any drug store. It is inexpensive, and four ounces is all you will need. This simple remedy has never been known to fail. Advertisement.

Claims two bottles of the new remedy, Dreco, has brought a big change in her. "It is wonderful to see the big change in mother since she has been talting Dreco," said Mr. S. C. Walker of 121 East McCarty Street, Indianapolis. "Mother lives in Marion, Intl., but is Cm a visit here. She had taken Dreco

'oack home so when she read in the

papers that it could be bought in Indianapolis, she had me make a special trip to the drug store to get some. "For a long time she has been bothered with constipation and had to take medicine nearly every night for this trouble. Her liver was very sluggish giving her bitter taste in the mouth, that tired, worn out feeling, dizzy spells and headaches. Her strength was very low and her sleep was broken. "Two Bottles of Dreco have made her like a different woman. She has a big appetite, sleeps sound all night long, never has a headache now, dizzy spells and the constipation have been entirely relieved. Really Dreco has been a great blessing to her." Dreco acts on the liver in a smooth, gentle manner, gradually working off the excess bile day by day. It is neither strong nor harsh, and does not excite the muscles of the bowels, as strong cathartics do. It tones up the digestive organs, and relieves gas on the stomach; puts an end to constipation; increases the appetite; gives strength to weak kidneys; restores tired nerves, and induces sound sleep. Dreco is a great blood purifier and system cleanser. All good druggists now sell Dreco and it is being especially introduced in Richmond by Clem Thistlethwaite's seven drug stores. Advertisement.
