SEEK TO INVALIDATE W. VA. LAW TO PREVENT SALE OF GAS TO OHIO
Consumers of natural gas here will be interested in the injunction suits brought by the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania against the State of West Virginia to nullify the soalled "Steptoe law" were resumed before the Ohio supreme court in Columbus today. The litigation grows out of a West Virginia statute under which that state conferred upon its public service commiseion the power to prevent the sale of gas to foreign corporations until the domestic demand has been satisfied. The states of Ohio and Pennsylvania are seeking to have the law set aside by the supreme court of the United States on their contention that it interferes with interstate commerce and would violate a multitude of contracts under which there have been spent more than $100,000,000 for the purpose of developing, transporting and delivering West Virginia gas to Ohio and Pennsylvania consumers. From the day the bill was passed by the legislature of West Virginia Attorney-General Price, of Ohio, and William L. Schaeffer, Attorney-General of Pennsylvania, have questioned the constitutionality of the act. They obtained an order from the United State3 supreme court restraining ttie state of West Virginia from putting the bill into effect pending the proceeding to determine its validity.

WASHINGTON. Eugene O'Brien's new starring vehicle for Selznlck Pictures is "The Figurehead," by John Lynch, which comes to the Washington theatre Monday and Tuesday. It is a tale of love and political intrigue, which gives
O'Brien an opportunity to appear in an i entirely new role as a "silk-stocking !
Willie," who is put up by a secret j
combination of apparently rival bosses as a candidate for Mayor who will be easily beaten by the "machine" nominee. The young aristocrat has really accepted the nomination only as an amusement, but, fired by a transforming love, he puts up a great fight and throws fear into the hearts of the bosses, who try all sort3 of strategy to get him to withdraw. Finally, they try to "frame" him and involve him in a manufactured scandal, and It is then that he shows the great qualities which heretofore were latent in him. Robert Ellis directed "The Figurehead," which includes some of the most pretentious settings and colorful mob scenes ever planned in motion pictures. WASHINGTON Eugene O'Brien, popular screen idol, is a political candidate in the new Selznlck Picture, "The Figurehead," which began a three days' showing at

Wilmer Club Impromptu Host For Wedding Dayton Couple When Miss Lena Ethel Llnkhorn and Bruce Wall, of Dayton, bought a marriage license Saturday at the clerks office, they inquired for a V. W. C.
