ROBERT DILLON IS BACK IN EATON TO SETTLE DIFFICULTY EATON, O.. June 19. Robert Dillon, Dunkard preacher and farmer, appeared Friday In Eaton to deny the reports to the effect that he had shaken the dust of Preble county from his feet and fled to parts unknown, because ot reportea financial entanglements. However, it Is said. Dillon was In conference with several local persons regarding adjustment of matters of a financial nature. Result of the conferences could not be learned, but it Is understood setUement was reached in some instances and that adjustment will be effected in others. That Dillon would return and straighten out his alleged tangled financial affairs was the firm and expressed belief of his friends, following reports that had gained circulation. When Dillon appeared In Eaton early yesterday afternoon he was accompanied by his wife and several
relatives. It Is said he came here from Johnsville, where he has relatives. Sunday Service Planned. Dr. Dunham of Dayton, district superintendent, conducted quarterly conference and preached Friday evening In the Methodist church. Rev. G. W. Foley, of Brucevllle. Ind . will preach here Sunday In Christ church, which la without a regular pastor. Rev. George Sixt will conduct Cttildren's day services Sunday morning In the Lutheran church. Corporations Are Interested In State Tax Decision Many Richmond and Wayne count corporations are Interested in th forthcoming decision of Judge Vincent Clifford of State Superior court, at Indianapolis, who will rule early next week in a suit testing the powers of the Btate board of tax commis(ioners in fixing tax assessments of domestic corporations. The Vigo Mining company sued to mandate the state board of tax commissioners to certify corporate excess taxes of $266,080 to the auditors of Greene, Sullivan and Vigo counties, in ratio of the amount of tangible property In each county to the total tangible property in all of the counties in which the company's property is located. The company holds that the commissioners erred In certifying to Vigo county all of the taxable property of the company. The mining company asks the following distribution: Greene county, 8.28 per cent; Sullivan county, 78.44 per cent, and Vigo county, 13.28 per cent.
