Bulletins from the Republican convention were being rushed aboard every Pennsy train passing through Richmond, Friday. They were taken by the conductors to the individual cars and read.
BILLS ARE MAILED FOR INCOME TAX COLLECTION Bills for the second installment of the income tax for 1919, due on or before June 15. have been mailed to taxpayers. Unlike the bills of last year, those of 1920 are nondetachable and are expected to be returned intact, accompanied by a check or money order. "Payment in this manner is particularly desirable," says William L. Elder,' collector of internal revenue. "It helps the taxpayer by saving him a trip to the collector's office. Failure of a taxpayer to receive a bill does not relieve him of his obligation to pay his tax within the time specified, according to Mr. Elder. Checks should be made payable to "collector of internal revenue," and may be sent to the office at Indianarolls or at New Albany, Evansville, Terre Haute. Lafayette, Logansport, Ft. Wayne, South Bend, Gary, M uncle, or Richmond.
Street Oiling To Commence The work of oiling the strets will be commenced immediately upon the arrival of the cars of oil. Two cars have been ordered for July. All petitions for oiling must be filed with the city clerk on or before July 10. in order that the engineer may determine what quantity of oil should bp ordei-pd.
