Automobile Thefts The summer months give the automobile thief more opportunity to steal cars than do the winter months, when automobiles are not used so frequently. Reports of thefts from neighboring cities and towns and a number in our own city show that the thieves have made an early start. - Police departments are pretty well organ
ized to make quick search for hieves when re
ports of the disappearance of cars are received, but the auto owners themselves can co-operate greatly with the police by taking precautions to prevent thefts and by reporting the loss of cars immediately. It doesn't pay to take an unnecessary chance
with an automobile. If owners will not invest in devices that afford at least a measure of protection against thieves, they should not complain bitterly if a nervy thief drives off with the car. Automobile thieves have the audacity to take

witnoui trouDie. ix xnese cars wcte eqiupytu with a device that would cause the thief some delay in starting, it might deter him from stealing. The operation of the federal interstate motor vehicle theft law may cause a decrease in the number of cars stolen, as federal judges show little sympathy for violators of the law and consequently are feared by the thieves. Drastic
penalties by the courts are powerful deterents. The vigilance of the auto owner and the prosecution by the courts will break up the easy game of stealing machines.

This is an institution which takes care of the children of mothers who are compelled to work for a living. During the hours in which the mothers are employed the Day Nursery looks after their children. The institution has done splendid work. Hundreds of mothers have taken advantage of the facilities it offers. Their children have been benefited by their stay of several hours a day in the nursery, for the attendants teach them many things that assist in their physical training and in the development of their characters. The community will show its interest by buying tags in generous amounts.
Today's Talk By George Matthew Adams
DISAPPOINTMENT I'm glad that we were all made out of the same kind of material. Of course, some of us look rather funny and act rather out of the ordinrry at times but we all track about the same. We are human. And humanity is frail. But each of us has within us the dements that make for great power. We father resources. We harbor mystery. We feel hope in our secret chambers. We mix faith in our blood. We all feel the darkness of disappointment at some time or other. But that's all right. If we didn't get pretty low ever' once in a while, we wouldn't I,ut back of our finest effort that force or fight that is so able to take us to the heights. To clirrtb a hill, you have to feed your automobile additional gas and give it a good boost at the bottom. Then your car keeps gaining momenti m until it pokes its nose to the level again. Disappointment has to be climbed. So climb it! Put heart into the task that faces you. And if disappointment clouds the day for you, work right thru till the sun comes around again. For it will come.

Memories of Old Days In This Paper Ten Years Ago Today
Directors of the Y. M. C. A. an-1
nounced that a summer course would be offered for boys over 10 years old. This plan was especially to help those who failed in their term's work. Daily rehearsals were being held by the seniors of Richmond high school for their class play, "The Rivals." The cast was announced. ) The South Side Improvement association considered plans of dedication for the National Automatic Tool Works factory building, and to the probable action of the association in its fight to prevent the teporary restraining order given James P. Goodrich, receiver of the C. C. & L. Railroad company, being made permanent.
Here are a few examples of current European humor: From "Karikaturen" of Christiania: Absent-minded Professor (half-way through theervice) "I thought there was something wrong, his is not the girl I want to marry." Another from "Karikaturen": He (affectionately) "You are far too good for me" She (absent-mindedly) I know It. But you were the best I could get." From "Tyrihan" of Christiania: A teacher wished to visit the mother of one of her pupils. The tenement was a fairly long walk away.

What Causes Wrinkles? What's The Remedy?
Stop to consider whatproduces wrinkles and saggincss of skin. Premature asing, mal-nutrition. etc., cause the flesh to shrink, lose its youthful plumpness and firmness. The skin then is too larpre for the flesh underneath; doesn't fit tightly and snugly as it used to it wrinkles or it sacrs. It must be plain that to tighten the skin, make it fit the face perfectly in every place, will effectually remove the "hated wrinkles and bagginess. This is easily and harmlessly accomplished by dissolving an ounce of pure powdered saxolite in a half pint of witch hazel, and using tho solution as a face wash. The ingredients you can get at any drug store, of course. The results are surprising. The skin Immediately tightens up. becoming firm and fresh as in youth. Every wrinkle and 6ag are affected at once. Advertisement.

Cocoanut Oil Fine For Washing Hair
If you want to keep your hair m good condition, be careful what you wash it with. Most soaps and prepared shampoos contain too much alkali. This dries
ithe scalp, makes the hair brittle, and is very harmful. Mulsified cocoanut oli shampoo which is pure and entire- ; ly grcasless), is much better than any
thing else you can use for shampooing, as this can't possibly injure the hair. Simply moisten your hair with water and rub it in. One or two tea-
Millions for a New Stomach One of the greatest American millionaires said to his physician, "A million dollars, Doctor, spot cash and no grumbling, for a new stomach," and then the sick man groaned and turned away. All his wealth could not mako him happyt or contented, for happiness largely depends upon digestion. Without health where does happiness come in? After all the stomach plays a great part in everyday life. Without a healthy stomach and good digestion our blood is thin, watery and poor, our heart action is weak, our liver does not do its duty, and man is miserable and unhappy. Prevent disease by putting tho house in order and strengthening the system against the genns of disease. Dr. Pierce, of the Invalid' Iloiel and Surgical Institute, at Buffalo, N. Y.t years ago understood diseases and their prevention, and he discovered certain roots and herbs which wero nature's remedies, and succeeded in putting them up in a form that could be easily procured at tho drug store (liquid or tablets). This ho called Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery. This Discovery gives no false stimulation because it contains no alcohol or any narcotic. It helps digestion and the assimilation of such elemenrj La the food as are required for the blood. It gives to tho blood the food el.-ments tho tissues require. For over fifty years it has enjoyed the confidence of the American public. Try it now!

DELIGHTED WITH , WHAT DRECO DID Suffered for years with stomach trouble, nervousness, pains in back and limbs, dizziness and constipation. All gone now. "I have just finished taking a bottle of Dreco, and it has made me feel so much better and stronger that I can do all my own housework," said Mrs Tilley Irvine, who lives at 720
l South Thirteenth street, Richmond,
Ind "Before I began taking Dreco," she continued, "I was in a terribly rundown condition; couldn't eat anything hardly, and didn't sleep much My trouble started several years ago. and although I tried many different things, nothing prescribed for me seemed to do me any good, and I was almost a physical wreck "After eating, I would feel all bloated with sour gas, and my heart would beat so fast sometimes, I would think it was going to jump out of my body This made me very nervous, and I was easy to get excited I felt so badly that I cguldn't take any interest in things Nearly every day I would read in the papers about what Dreco had done for others, and many cases just fitted my symptoms exactly, so I talked the matter over with my husband, and we decided to give Dreco a trial After a few days it began to brace me up, and 1 knew I had at last found the right thing my system needed "I am now so much better that I can eat most anything I want, and as much as I want, and do not feel any bad pffprfs at all AIv rmshanrl savs
I sleep like a log. and he can hardly j
wake me up in the morning I never have a headache now. and feel strong and well I am delighted with what Dreco did for me." When tho liver, kidneys, or bowels become inactive, the system fails to throw off the poisons, and slowly, day by day, we are weakening our bodies till a breakdown comes. Sometimes it takes the form of the above case; Dreco causes the organs to carry off these toxins and waste matter, and keep the system free of these poisons. All good druggists now sell Dreco, and it is highly recommended in this city by Clem Thistlelhwaite's seven
