GLEAN-UP OBSERVED IN EATON; AUTO TAX RECEIVED FROM STATE
EAT0?T. O., May 27. "Clean-up TVeek" ia being observed this week in Eaton. Mayor Harry L. Risinger issued a proclamation requesting all citizens to remove trash, rubbish, etc., from their premises as a means of beautifying the city and also as a means of safeguarding against fire. All rubbish removed from premises and placed upon the street will be removed under the direction of the street commissioner. Auto Taxes Distributed. County Auditor S. C. Hunt has received the first installment of Preble county's share of collected automobile taxes. The installment, $6,142, is divided as follows: Eaton, $1,686.70; Camden. $457.65; College Corner, $149.60; Eldorado, $242; Gratis, $41; Lwisbrug, $247.55; New Paris, $402.50; West Alexandria, $597; West Elkton. $22; West Manchester, $102.10. The county's share is $2,194.05. Murray Must Pay Up. So long as Pearl Murray pays $6 each week toward support of his children, nntn further order of common

Contracts have been awarded by the ritv hnard nf education for installation
of some 50 sanitary toilets in the basement at. the north school building, at
a total cost of $7,811.42. Have to Pay for Columns. When the old county courthouse was wrecked to give way to the new one, four stone columns that supported a portico of the building w-r- nurchased from the wrecking con . T-ocal citizens banded together. The object was to erect the columns. Each guarantor has been cal'ed upon to pay $10.41 and liquidate the indebtedness. Labor Will Probe Senator Watson's Record at Meeting Th" 'omolete congressional record of Sen.--or Watson and his attitude toward labor legislation will be thoroughly combed at the regular meeting of the Central Labor Council at the Eagles' Hall Thursday evening. President Vern Pentecost says information at first glance is not favorable. Final action on the school term question will also be taken up at Thursday's meeting. Report of the school board is expected to be presented.

agreement the association agrees to
pay the city one-hau in " t uiauo from the Chautauqua program. The board also signed a contract with Frank Crump providing for the concession privileges at the park for
a like period.
Permission was granted the owner of lot 21, North West Second street, to cut curb and install a 10-foot driveway. A letter from George Hamilton was read, requesting relief from the flooding of his cellar at his homo on Fifteenth street. The board consulted with the engineer and took the matter under advisement.

PHILLIPS MADE SENIOR WARDEN; MASONS OF THE STATE INCREASE Robert W. Phillips, of this city, was elected senior grand warden at the
99th annual state meeting of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, which opened Tuesday morning at the Masonic Temple, Illinois and North streets, Indianapolis. Charles J. Orbison, of Indianapolis, grand master, said the lodges of Indiana enjoyed a net increase of 10,022 members in the year, making a total state body of 98,170. Six new temples were dedicated.

Two From Here Attend Funeral of Henry Hill The Rev. Andrew F. Mitchell, pastor of South Eighth Street Friends church, officiated at the funeral of Dr. Henry Hill, of Logansport, in that city Wednesday. He accompanied the body to Indianapolis Thursday. Dr. Hill was well known in Richmond. He was a cousin of Dr. W. C. Woodward, editor of the American Friend, who attended the funeral services.
Jordan Will Not Consider School Board Job Again A successor to C. W. Jordan, member of the Richmond school board, will be chosen probably at the first June meeting of the city council. Jordan's term expires in July. He says he absolutely will not consider re-election.
Richmond Persons to Attend Whitewater Memorial Day

made for the observance of Memorial Day in Whitewater, Ind. A Richmond band will go and it is probable that many people will attend from this city. tion with the Dorothy CUft cafe, was sentenced to two to 21 years in prison in circuit court Thursday. "This sentence will not be suspended," said Judge Bond. Frazee pleaded not guilty Wednesday, but afterwards asked to change his plea. He pleaded guilty when he appeared in court Thursday.
