OSING OUT
Of all our Men's, and Women's Shoes and Oxfords priced above $6.00 per pair Also our Entire Stock of Children's Shoes BEGINS THURSDAY MORNING, MAY 27th This is a chance of a lifetime to buy the finest Shoes in the world at a saving of from $2.00 to $6.00 per pair not season-end leftovers, but full, unbroken lines of the smartest Spring, Summer and early Fall styles. Our many thousands of customers will be surprised at the announcement and curious to know the cause of it. We will explain it briefly: FIRST, WE ARE NOT GOING OUT OF BUSINESS. On the contrary, we are preparing the way for doing business on even a greater scale and giving our patrons even greater values than we have in the past. Perhaps you have noticed our growth during the past few years. In five years we have grown from three stores to more than thirty. Two-thirds of these have been started within the last two years. We are now installing new stores at the rate of about twenty per year. Our chain of stores now reaches across tha continent, from New York to Kansas City and from Baltimore to Minneapolis, embracing all of the big cities. Our two original stores were Richmond and Indianapolis. These two stores alone carry charge accounts and do a general shoe business. All of the others are specialty stores, selling shoes for men and women only and at just two prices, $5.00 and $6.00 none higher. They carry no charge accounts, eliminate all unnecessary items of expense, operate on the smallest percentage of expense and at the smallest margin of profit of any shoe merchandising establishment in the world. All of this saving is put in the shoes, so our prices are $2.00 to $3.00 per pair lower than shoes of equal value can be bought anywhere else. This accounts for our rapid growth a growth unparalleled in the history of the shoe trade. You can readily understand that it is impractical for us to contine permanently our two original stores as high-priced general shoe stores carrying charge accounts and operate all of the rest of our stores as level-priced specialy stores selling only for cash. We must operate all of them alike, and our experience with both has taught us that an overwhelming majority of the people prefer our specialty to our general shoe stores, so we have decided to change over our Richmond and Indianapolis stores. This involves disposing of all of our high-priced Shoes and Oxfords and our entire stock of Children's Shoes.
Ladies9 High Shoes The line includes not only all of our Spring and Summer Shoes and Oxfords, but also our stock of High Shoes for next Fall, which we bought and took in early in order to get advantages in prices and selections. These Shoes are worth up to $20.00 per pair. They will all go in this sale at from $8.00 to $12.00 per pair.
