Earlham Chief Hopes For A LittleJust A Little Baseball Practice Today Coach Ray B. Mowe of Earlham is hopeful of badly needed baseball practice at Reid Field Thursday afternoon. Save for an occasional look at the muddy lalpe that should have been the baseball diamonds, the Quaker squad have been inactive all week. Saturday's game at Muncie with the Normal school of that city will give the Quakers an opportunity to avenge the 8 to 7 defeat of earlier in the season, and also a bulge on Beason percentage. The Quakers have won and lost two games each this season. Normal will come to Richmond for the third game of the series next Tuesday. The last game of the baseball schedule, and the most important will be played at Reid Field against St. Mary's on May 29. Commercial Meeting Is Postponed to Monday Night The organization meeting of Commercial baseball league representatives has been postponed from Friday until Monday night. Sam Vigran, in whose store the meeting will be held, will be . occupied with other business Friday. However, all managers or representatives are to be at the meeting with power to act. A schedule is to be made out and the league probably get under way the first week of June. A six-club league means that games will have to be played three times a week. The A. 8. M. has Exhibition perk on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The Commercial leaguers, however, will use it Tuesday and Thursday. Friday's game to be played at the playgrounds or Glen Miller park. The first clash between probable league members will be between the Palladium and Home Telephone company at Exhibition park Thursday afternoon. A. A. IRELAND ARMED CAMP AS SOLDIERS ARE TAKEN OVER (By Associated Press) DUBLIN, May 20. One man was killed and two women Injured in rioting last night in the streets of Limerick, where police and soldiers are on duty. No details of the disorder have as yet been received. DUBLIN, May 20. Contingents of British cavalry and infantry are arriving in Ireland, but the total number of troops now In the Island still is considerably below that of a year ago. Many men then on duty had enlisted for the duration of the war and have since been demobilized. Troops hitherto have been used merely as additional police officers and have not been numerous; enough to cope with disturbances, and . t least one machine gun would be installed. Various depots throughout Ireland have in the last few weeks been training machine gunners, many being schooled in this city, ' the rattling sounds of machine guns being audible every morning in the neighborhood of numerous military barracks. General Sir Nevil McReady is the most important member of the Irish administration but It is felt the forcible application of law is more urgent than any policy. The commander-in-chief says he has nothing to do with policy and is interested only in military affairs. He was sent to Dublin by the cabine. In fights which have occurred at police barrack, the attackers generally have been ten times more numerous than the defenders, and as they have also been well armed, the contest has been unequal. Soldiers therefore, have been called in to establish a balance. In many places they are doing ordinary police patrol which is a form Try Fleur de Venice Cigars GEO. H.
