It is expected that in the near fu

ture artificial gas for heating pur

poses will be substituted largely for

natural gas in the Pittsburgh and oth

er districts, where a considerable shortage in supply of natural gas has developed. This was the prediction

made at a conference held recently under the auspices of the Public Service Commission in Pittsburgh. The Philadelphia Co., which has been a large supplier of natural gas for many years, it Is stated, is now prepared to supply 7,000,000 cubic feet of artificial gas per day, and expects in the near future to be able to supply 30,000,000 cubic feet of artificial gas per day.
