USED TO MOVE IN SPRING; NOW FOLKS ONLY REARRANGE

Spring housecleanlng in Richmond this year is different from that of seasons gone by. Formerly energetic housewives tore up carpets, took down pictures, moved the piano and cleaned things in general, then packed up and awaited the moving van to drive up and move them to a different house. A few short years ago it was considered proper to move with the coming of spring. Today trying to find a rentable house is like trying to get a line on old bonded liquor hard to get for any money. The housewives will not be cheated out of an opportunity of making hubby's .life miserable, for according to wall paper and paint merchants, more

paint and paper! is being purchased this year than in history. Will Just Change Furniture. This evidently means that the good wives are contenting themselves with changing furniture, beating carpets and putting fresh paper and paint on the houses. L. M. Hayes, of a wall paper company, says that wall paper has advanced 75 per cent this year over last season's prices. But he also says the demand for the high price paper is greater than in the history of his business. Hejias been in business in Richmond for seven years and last month was the record breaking one of all.
