MANY WEDDED BUT P DIVORCES INCREASE, ! SHOW GO. RECORDS

Divorces and marriages, more divorces and more marriages. That is the record of Wayne county for the past three years. Statistics gathered from the county clerk's office Wednesday show that for the first three months of 1918, 87 marriage licenses were Issued and 23 divorce petitions were filed. For the same three months In 1919, 68 licenses were issued and 33 divorce suits filed, and for January, February and March, J 920, 42 divorce petitions have been filed against 103 marriage licenses sold. Each year the number of divorce petitions filed seems to be growing nearer the number of marriage licences issued, say officials. Already Most in State. Wayne county has already earned the distinction of rendering more divorces than any other county in the

Mate, and early 1920 figures tend to

Fhow that she will again walk away wih honors at the close of this year. Officials hesitate about giving reasons for the large number of divorce petitions filed in the court .saying that the only plausible factor in the matter is "that the married couples just don't agree." Advocates Trial Marriages. A trial marriage law has been advocated for some time by a prominent county official, who says that that is the only way couples can be sure that they are really soul-mates. This official says that a couple should be granted a temporary, or trial, marriage license. At the end of CO days of living, together the coupje, if confident that

,they can live successfully as man and

wife, they should be given a permanent marriage license. In case the couple find that hey have made a mistake their trial license should be -annulled or revoked. "As long as there are marriages there are bound to be divorces," said the official. Cupid's agents are also at a loss to ive reasons for the large number of marriage licenses issued recently. Spring is Blamed. "For a while." said the official, "we

issued comparatively no licenses, and

now, just recently, we have been

having quite a run on the matrimonial records. "Perhaps the spirit of spring has something to do with it, who knows," he concluded. During the month of March, 33 marriage Mcenses were issued and 15 divorce petitions were filed.

For years the water supply has at times been insufficient, and more wells are imperative. It is understood that there has been trouble in arranging a price for the location of the wells, and in order to save further trouble the village intends to go into court and purchase its own ground. How To Gain Flesh

A simple but sure way to increase the weight, it is asserted by several well known physicians, is to take regularly for several months, one or two 3 grain hypo-nuclane tablets after each meal. These little tablets have the distinguished merit of increasing the red and white blood corpuscles, aiding digestion and promoting assimilation and absorption of the elements in the food which go to make blood and solid tissues. They are obtainable in sealed

feel exactly right to try Pepgen." Many women are compelled to lie down at frequent intervals during the day. This is due to weakness and is a forerunner of more serious ills to follow. Falntness, dizziness, sinking feelings in the pit of the stomach are first observed. The digestion becomes impaired and the appetite poor. Then comes palpitation of the heart, shortness of breath, paleness and dark circles under the eyes. Finally the memory becomes poor, the disposition irritable. - - Pepgen has been the means of relieving thousands of women of these distressing symptoms. Those who wish to learn more about it may do so from any first class drugstore, anywhere. Advertisement.

Dreaded Appendicitis Frequently Caused by a Constipated Condition of the Bowels

Is the Most Direct and Dangerous Disease Brought About By Constipation

Theories vary as to the actual cause of some diseases, but in the matter of Appendicitis diagnoses leave no room for argument that Constipation is its most frequent cause. The perpendicular section of the large bowel becomes overloaded with faecal matter, and its weight and pressure finally become so great that some of the refuse Is forced into the little vermiform sac, and the inflammatory condition thereof known as Appendicitis results. Home of the most prominent surgeons claim that in operating for Appendicitis in many cases the large bowel is filled with a hard, rotten mass, stuck to the walls like glue, and in some instances filled with nests of worms. The prominent medical writer. "Gant," says: "It is doubtful if there is another ailment which is more prevalent, causes more annoyance, or is more troublesome to both physician and patient, than persistent Constipation." You can find quick and permanent relief from this troublesome condition through the use of STUART'S PEP-TATJCXKS. In fact, Constipation cannot be present when PKP-TALKNtf are used. These little Pink Lozenges, as good to the taste as candy, assist nature in digesting food and regulating the Bowels more effectually than anything ever prepared.

Leonard Ear 03

Ninety Percent of the cases of Deafness and Head Noises are Catarrhal, due to Catarrh in the Eustachian Tubes and Air Passages which connect the ears and nose.. In all such cases these Tubes become stopped up with Catarrhal mucus, and the Air Passages of the Head clogged, thus preventing the air from enteringan d circulating as nature intended.and the result is Deafness and a great variety of dreadful Head Noises. Catarrh causes Thickened, Sunken and Hardened Drums. Also, if the Natural Drum is perforated or completely destroyed the cold air enters through the perforation and a Catarrhal condition quickly arises. Therefore, before there can be any improvement in Hearing or Relief from the Head Noises it is absolutely necessary that the diseased condition in the Eustachian Tubes and Air Passages be relieved. By "Rubbing It In" and massaging Leonard Ear Oil as directed.
