merce have filed before the Interstate Commerce Commission a petition for a readjustment of the class freight rates in the Northwestern territory which are discriminatory to Indiana shippers. O. P. Gothlin, chief of the traffic bureau of the Indiana Commission, said that under the present rates Illinois shippers obtain lower rates from points in Illinois to points In the Northwest than can be obtained by Indiana shippers. k He said that the commission and
the State Chamber of Commerce will make a fight to obtain a reduction in Indiana rates to the Northwest instead cf seeking to Increase the Illinois rates and bring them to a party with the Hoosier class freight rates.
Forty-one railroads are named as de
fendants in the petition. It is pointed out that all the roads maintain class freight rates from points in Illinois (in
cluding west bank of the Mississippi
River and points in Missouri and Iowa)
to St. Paul and Minneapolis, that are relatively lower than the rates from Indiana points to the same destina

Arthur Woods, chairman of the National Americanization commission of the American legion, issued a statement yesterday In which he declared , that the reported plan of "reds" to - obtain membership in the legion for " the purpose of spying upon it, would cause no real harm. His statement, which was issued from the national headquarters of the v" legion, said that good might come ; from the scheme, since the "reds" might be converted to a belief in i law and order by learning something of the work of the legion. "- "We welcome into the legion all " sorts and conditions of men; the only '.- belief we insist upon is the belief In - Americanism," said Mr. Woods. "The legion has no concern with political parties or with industrial, economic ' or social theories, so long as they are consistent with the principles of Amer--lcanism. No Real Harm Possible. -; "The American legion is against those who are against America, wheth- ' er they be external or internal enemies. If enemies of America become " members of the legion, they do so only after falsely subschibing to the legion's declaration of principles. , "No real harm, however, can be done to the legion or its work of promoting Americanism by the presence in its
membership of such persons. We are working to promote public welfare and good citizenship, and the more they find out about this work the better. It will 'do them good. "They will find It evry difficult

Here Is a Sensible Treatment That Gets Prompt Results. For real downright, harrassing discomfort very few disorders can approach so-called skin disorders, such as Eczema, Tetter, Boils, eruptions, scaly Irritations and similar skin troubles, notwithstanding the lavish use of salves, lotions, washes and other treatments applied externally to the Irritated parts. No one ever heard of a person being afflicted with any form of skin disease whose blood was in good condition. Therefore, it is but logical to conclude that the proper method of treatment for pimples, blotches, sores, boils, rough, red and scaly skin, is to purify
Qmat
the blood and remove the tiny germs of pollution that break through and manifest their presence on the surface of the skin. People in all parts of the country have written us how they were completely rid of every trace of these disorders by the use of S. S. S., the matchless, purely vegetable blood
cleanser. S. S. S. goes direct to the I center of the blood supply, and strengthens and builds up the circulation, giving a clear and ruddy, complexion that indicates a healthy I condition of the skin. "My back ached constantly and I " was so stiff I could hardly bend over. My joints ached so badly at night that I could not sleep but would walk the " floor. My kidneys were acting bad tend my liver was sluggish. I tried -everything I heard of that was good for rheumatism and aching joints, but -they failed to do me good, f "One day I was in Muncie and -heard a lot of talk about Dreco and the marvelous good it was doing for the folks around there, so I bought
tome Dreco, took It home and started taking it. That proved to be the best Tmoney I ever spent for soon my joints began to grow easy and before many days had passed I was free from ,pain; something I hadn't known for years. The pains have not returned .either. So I'm very happy over my "deliverance. My liver has been worked Ttff well and my kidneys regulated. ;Dreeo sure is one grand medicine." Dreco acts on the bowels and relieves constipation, thereby removing the cause of many troubles. It will "be noticed after taking Dreco, the headaches fail to appear; the nerves are soothed, sound sleep is Induced; the appetite increases; no more dizzy pells; the stomach digests the food, "without having gas to follow, and the :jiidneys perform their duty of strain.ing the poison? from the blood, thereby putting a stop to rheumatism and other disorders.
