Choose! Men May Wear English or U. S. Clothes This Spring

A well filled pocketbook and a clear i conscience are all tbe young man of Richmond will need to venture forth on the annual drive for Easter-time "splffy-nesa. Rulers In the world of fashions have made a half-hearted compromise for the unusually high prices by . declaring that the styles of the last Ave years will be the thing" for this spring. The young man will ha e the cosmopolitan and stuffy fashion of English clothes, or the long and willowy he-vampish American modes, to select from. '' English fashions have had a profound effect upon American clothes for the last 10 years, but the imitation has usually differed from the original In being made better. The English fashions are more extreme than tbe American.

Pea Jacket Coat the Rage. Richmond clothiers will display a short and shapeless English coat of the pea jacket effect. The coat will have as many as four buttons and buttons up tightly nearly to the throat If Americans do not favor the English models, clothiers have a wide range of the home product. The long coat of American design is In contra

distinction to the short English model. The coat will be less high waisted than of yore, and with broader shoulders. The tight sleeves and flaring skirts still remain. Vests will be concave when possible among the extremely youthful model 3. No Cuffs on Trousers. Whether from the sailor suit influence or as a throw-back from the styles of the early eighties, style fixers do not say, but the 1920 spring trousers will be tighter than formerly and will be minus the cuff. The sailor influence probably has to do with the fact that the bottom of the

trouser legs will be flared a rifle. .Perhaps the flare will enable the young man to get the trousers on quicker! Belts have been relegated to sport clothes and .will not be worn on the enappy business coats. Single and double breasted coats will be shown impartially. The cloth of the suits

will be mostly of soft finish with many

startling shades and figures. Narrow Brims on Hats.

Spring hats will rhyme with the English styles, being very narrow of brim and without rakish tilts. Brims will roll up all around and with a slight dip in front. Zephyr weights in soft hats and a wide variety of tweeds

and checks In cloth hats will be

popular.

"White will be "the color" in shirts

this spring. Madras, Jacuard silks, plain silks and linen will predominate in materials. Green jade jewelry will

be worn in novelty design in scarf pins and cuff links. Scarfs will be very narrow, to accomddate the lowest collars worn In years. The- low collars that our fathers wore in their youth, will prevail. Ah! Shoes Are Broader. In shoes the light tan will stage a

comeback after a long exi?e. Reds and blacks will be put on the shelf for a while. The shoe shapes are swinging away from the long, narrow English last, and the newest models have a wider swing with a pointed toe.

This is good news to those who could never feel comfortable in the English lasts. Although Richmond haberdashers

do not show much enthusiasm, dis

patches from style headquarters say that walking sticks are going to be popular this year. The yellow chamois glove is not expected to be popular this spring; gray, brown and green being "the colors". Styles in middle aged men's clothing have made practically no change.

The three button sack coat, with or without vent are to be displayed by

Richmond clothiers as "the latest

The same styles in collars, shirts, gloves and shoes that are announced

for the younger man will hold good

For Freckled, Rough or Mnddy Complexions

The freckling, discoloring or roughening to which delicate skins are subject after exposure to wind or sun, often appearing in early spring, may readily be gotten rid of. Mercolized

wax, spread lightly over the face before retiring and removed in the mornins with soap and water, completely

peels off the disfigured skin. Get an

ounce of the wax at any druggists.

There's no more effective way of ban-1 ishing freckles or other cutaneous de-1 fects. Little skin particles come off j each day, so the proccess doesn't even !

temporarily mar the complexion, ana one soon acquires a brand new, spotless, girlishly beautiful face. Advertisement.
