TEACHERS OF 6TH DISTRICT TO MEET AT SHELBYVILLE
The Sixth District Educational association will meet at Shelbyville, April 2 and 3. The plans are almost perfected nd the meeting promises to be one in which every teacher will be greatly interested. Many Richmond teachers are planning to attend. On Friday evening, April 2, at 7:20, the teachers will hear George A. H. Shideler. general superintendent of the
Indiana Reformatory, at Jefferson-
ville. Mr. Shideler will speak on the topic "Some of Whom Were Lost but Afterwards Found." On Saturday, April 3 from 9:30 to 10:45 a. m., four seperate conferences on English will bo held as follows:

"The boiler-washing building at the
east yards was completed Friday afternoon and active operations were started Saturday morning. The building is a frame structure built around two large tanks, and although about
20 feet west of the roundhouse, is connected with the latter by several large pipes. The building is used when the water is pumped from the boilers of the round house into the large tanks. The round house boilers are then cleaned out and the water from the tanks which is filtered while there, Is pumped back into the
boilers, the whole operation consuming less than 30 minutes.

badly needed locomotives are often held idle in the roundhouse while parts are being sent here from Columbus or Altoona. Small parts, however, are manufactured at the Richmond shops.

Start Monday in State Next week will be "meat saving week" in Indiana. Under tho plan citizens will be asked during that period to retrain from buying the most choice cuts of meats. They will be persuaded to take cuts of round steak and other meats at lower prices than those they have been accustomed to buying. The week will be carried out in cities of eastern and middle western states. It was designed by the department of justice with a view to bringing about a cut in the consumption of the choice cuts of meats and subsequently a reduotion in price. Stanley Wyckoff, fair price commissioner, is in charge of the plan in the state.

The journey took six months. He had been arrested by the Bolsheviks. He heard his mother was ill and wanted to see him. He escaped from prison. Without funds or food he set out on his tramp.
