DUNHAM HART DEAD; MIAMI U. ALUMNI OF PREBLE WILL DINE

EATON, O., March 1 Dunham Hart, 75, well-known Preble county fanner died Wednesday noon at his home near Sugar Valley, six miles southwest of Eaton, after an illness of two days' duration. Funeral services . will be held Saturday afternoon at his home. Burial will be here In Mound Hill cemetery. Mr. Hart was born in Sugar Valley neighborhood, where he lived all his Hfe, with the exception of several

years that he lived In Missouri when

young man.

He is survived by one son, Walter

Hart, two daughters, Mrs. William Thomas and Mrs. Ambrose Toney, all

of whom reside In this county; also

a brother, Joseph hart, of Princeville,

Leland Fishback Takes Position on G, 0, P. Staff

Leland K. Fishback has accepted a position in the executive department of the Republican national headquarters In Chicago. He is a student in the law department of Northwestern university, and as soon as he completes his course at the end of the present semester, he will do field work for the Republican party. Mr. Fishback is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Fishback of this city. He was attached to the aviation section during the world war and was stationed in London.

BACK TAXES COLLECTED. INDIANAPOLIS, March 18. During the last six months the state has recovered from insurance companies $34,141.56 in back taxes due the state under the reciprocal insurance law, according to a statement issued Wednesday by Jesse E. Eschbach, state examiner of the board of accounts. The report shows that total charges brought against companies amounted to $168,581.71, and of this amount, $11,367.73 was dismissed after investigation. The amount pending settlement in the office of the attorney general'or in the' courts, is $121,639.

Hawaii's Population is

Increased in Decade

Bureau will conduct a membeship campaign. Date for inauguration of the campaign has not been fixed. Present plans are to fix the membership fee at $10, the membership to cover a period of three years. At this time there are not sufficient county fund 3 on hand to carry on county agricultural agent work. The bureau expects to raise enough money in its membership drive to make up the deficiency of county funds. After three years Bervlce, A. J. Swift some time ago resigned as county agent, sine which time the county has been without an agent. City Wars on Dogs War has been declared by the city council on unlicensed dogs running at large in the city limits. Officers who are to inforce the resolution say they are wondering If enough ammunition is available to do the job. John Risinger to Rochester. Attorney John Risinger has gone to Mayo's hospital, Rochester, Minn., for troatment. He was accompanied to Rochester by his cousin, Judge A. C. Risinger of common pleas court. Shuey Seriously III. Mayor Frank G. Shuey of Camden, who has been quite ill the last several weeks, is not mending well, according to advices received today. Mayor Shuey suffered an attack of influenza. Knapp, of Hagerstown, and Oliver Lafuze, of Liberty, members of the state legislature, have been mailed letters from Jesse Eschbach, state examiner of the state board of accounts, presenting statements showing savings effected in the state government by the accounts board. The statements say that during the past five months, when Eschbach has been state examiner, the expenditure of the office have been $5,139 less than during the same period in 1918.
