. CATTLE, CORN, HOGS

' mi uii'ulu im urccv.

hll niuncn in iyluv; SHIPMENTS HELD UP By WILLIAM R. SANBORN. There was a little spurt of buying in the hog pens at Indianapolis, at the close on Saturday, and some choice

light hogs sold up to $16, this also

being the top on Saturday, February 28th. At the same time hogs -weigh

ing more than 300 pounds were going

at $15, with hogs ranging at from 250 to 200 pounds at around $15.25. Pigs were strong compared with Friday, being np 50 cents at $15.50 for best. The 3.000 hogs in the pens hardly supplied the city packing trade on Saturday. But 200 cattle arrived Saturday and the market was quiet. But regardless of this cattle showed a material gain

in price during the week; there being

an average advance of 75 cents on steers; 50 cents on cows and heifers . and 40 to 50 cents on feeders, in sympathy with the general trend in cattle values. Roads are Still Bad.

Medium veals sold at from $11 to $14, with best ranging at from $17 to

$18. The condition of country roads ! as affecting "trucking-in" reduced

live stock receipts at Indianapolis last week and Is still being felt at all receiving points, aside from the fact that fat hogs are getting scarcer from day

to day.

Chicago Cattle and Hogs. Chicago's general average price on hogs on Saturday at $14.95 and the average on the week at $14.80, showed a 50 cent advance compared with weekending Saturday, Feb. 28. The best hogs brought $15.55 last Satruday, ,, against a top of $15.25 on Monday. The Vonly two spots on the hog map showing a top of over $1C on Satruday were Pittsburg at $16.40. and Buffalo at $10.50. The top at Buffalo on March 5, last year, was $20, and at Pittsburg $19.50. The low day of this year at Chicago was Feb. 24, since which date hogs have advanced $1 per hundred weight in that market. Cattle closed the week at Chicago with a considerable show or strength, the bulk ot steers being 75 cents to $1 up on the week. Fancy veals topped the market at $17 and fancy lambs at $20. All Strings Off on Corn. Board of Trade regulations limiting open trot1" in corn to 200,000 bushels in any ori!on. were recently rescinded. The sky is now the limit and the effect of wide open speculation has been noted sincp that date. When May com st fuck $1.40 last Tuesday it was at the highest point reached since last August But May didn't stop at $1.40 but climbed to $1.45 last Saturday, from a ton of $1.42 on Friday. May corn is ranging at 12 to 14 cents over price ruling a year ago. with May oats from 20 to 22 cents higher. Number 3 corn is selling at from $1.56 to $1.60 at Chicago, making that market the highest, relatively, on the erain map. Cash oats brought 89 to 32 cents In Chicago last week.

HER RECOVERY IS TALK OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD

"I have wished a thousand times that I had heard of Tanlac years ago, for it would have saved me endless misery end pain," said Mrs. Mary A. Peyton, of 94 Pugh Ave., Terre Haute, Ind., to the Tanlac representative at Buntin's Drug store recently, when expressing her gratefulness for what Tanlac had done for her. "I used to be a healthy, Btrong woman with a good appetite and could do my own housework with ease, but about six years ago my health failed rr.e. I lost all desire for food and my stomach was so upset that I had to diet myself very closely. I had such dreadful pains in the back that at times I felt I couldn't stand it. I could not rest in any position; even to sit down hurt me, and I would have to hold on to the arms of the chair. I got painfully thin and weak and was quite unable to do even as much as prepare my husband's meals. I got awfully depressed and finally gave up hope of ever being a well woman again. No one M'ill ever know what I went through. "One day I read in the papers of a woman whose case was exactly similar to my own and who had been greatly helped by Tanlac, so I got my husband to buy me a bottle for a 'try out'. Well, it seemed to go right to the root of my trouble. It settled my stomach and gave me a surprising appetite. Gradually I recovered in every way. The pains in my back left me and I began to feel like a young woman again. By the time I had finished the fourth bottle I had gained eleven pounds in weight and I am now eo well that I can make the beds, sweep the floors and in fact do all my own housework without any trouble. My husband and all the neighbors are so surprised to see me in good health, and my case is quite the talk of the neighborhood." "Tanlac is sold in Richmond by Quigley's Drug Stores and by the leading druggists in every town. Advertisement.
