Mrs. Solomon Says Being The Confessions of The-. Seven-Hundreth Wife. BY HELEN ROWLAND
Y
(Copyright, 1919, by the Wheeler'
Syndicate. Inc.) Verily, verily my Daughter, three tilings I trust not nay four I find too much for me. A Ouija board and a man who -would travel to Mars upon a rocket. The voice of a milliner, who saith, "Oh, how becoming!" And the words ot a man who promiseth "Eternal Love"! Lo, the Young Idealist cryeth: "Behold, could 1 but find the Perfect Woman of my dreams, then would I cease from frivoling and love her forever and ever!" But I smile behind my fan and answer him, saying: "Yea, verily, my son! I KNOW the Ideal, whom thou seekest. "Even a damsel who is both dazzling and modest. "Chic and economical. "Brilliant and yet unsophisticated; pood and yet interesting; fascinating and yet hath never been kissed! ' "One, who will cause the vanity to be puffed up, when she walketh amongst men, making them to turn their heads and cry "Behold! A peach!" yet, one who will be content to sit at home and watch then read the newspaper six evenings of the week. "One who vill go forth upon the Highway looking like a breath , from Paris and yet, cheerfully make over her frocks and trim her own hats. "One who will cater to thy digestion and also adorn the drawing-room. "One who will be cold and haughty toward all others yet who will run at thy whistle, tremble at thy frown, and cat. nut of thine hand!
"Even, a kitten and a nueen: a paint
nd a Circe: an ornament and a
kitchen utensil; a halo and a foot
stool. "And. having found this PARAGON, thou wilt love her sufficiently to feed and clothe and pet her. so long as she flattereth thee and coddleth and waiteth upon thee and doth not get upon thr nerves. "So long as pbe fteppeth her figure and her dienity and never causeth thee to blush. "So long as she never boreth thee, ror naggeth thee, nor expresseth her riFATi opinion of tbee. "So long as she tickleth thy vanity and doth not tread upon thine amourpronre. "O to? Talk not unt! ME of th Perfect Woman, and man's Eternal Love! "For the one Is a Paradox and the oilier Is n. Droam! "And nitlipr pxisteth, Rave in a man's imagination. "But a wIpp man will bp pnnionf. to find a damsel, .who Is kissnlin, and cheerful and loyal. For no more can anv man ASK! "And an honest man will promise to 'ove her, so long as he flndeth her lovable. "For no more can ANY man pioTrt?se! " SELAII.

JNO SMALL HAS GAINED 20 LBS. A IN SHORT TIME
I had lost twenty pounds in weight at the time I began taking Tanlac but now I have gained every pound of it back, feel twenty years younger and for the first time in three years 1 am back at work regular every day," was the statement made recently by John Small, a well known miner living at 666 Lafayette avenue, Terre Haute, Ind. I was in a bad fix and had been for three years before I got Tanlac; why, I wxfuld be at work one dayand then the next I would have to lay off and probably be in bed at that. At times I was helpless and when my wife had to look after me like I was a baby it was beginning to iook like my age had about got the best of me. I was so nervous my hands shook like a leaf and I could hardly hold a cup to my mouth. My kidneys were all out of order and if I went to bend over my back felt like it would break in two. My stomach was sour all the time, nearly everything I ate turned against me and I had awul pains and burnings in my chest. I suffered from bad spells of mine asthma that would come on nie and last for three and four days at a time, and often I would have to < up all night long unable to sleep a wink. "A friend of mine, and by the way, he is ninety yVars old, too, well he had been helped so by Tanlac that I 1 Knew there must be something to it. so I began taking it myself. In all I took six boftles and today, it's a fact, t hardly know myself; why. I have been made all over again, and several boys at the mine have started taking Tanlac on the strength of what it has done for me. The mine asthma has left me entirely and I sleep as sound as I ever did in my life. My kidneys never bother me at all. and the pain In my bark has gone. I eat anything on the table and never have a sign of indigestion, afterwards. My nerves are strong and steady and I never mips a day from my work. I am now fully convinced that Tanlac Is the best medicine that was ever made and all the time I am recommending it to my friends." Tanlac is sold in Richmond by Clem Thistlcthwaite and by the leading druggists in every town. Advertisement.

where Karo is not served in some manner for breakfast, for dinner or for supper. During these days of high prices, Karo has become another word for economy. Thousands of thoughtful housewives have learned that Blue Label Karo is not only a delicious spread for pancakes, but answers every purpose where a sweet is needed. Instead of paying the present high prices for jams, jellies and preserves serve Blue Label Karo on sliced bre.d, toast, pancakes or waffles.
Do as the wise cooks are now doing : Use Karo to stew dried fruit, prunes; use it for candied sweet potatoes, brown bread, muffins, coffee cake and puddings. Karo Home-made Candy is the best for children. It is wholesome, easy to make, costs much less than store candy. Mothers give children Blue Label Karo and sliced bread because it satisfies Nature's craving for sweets and takes the place of candy. IMPORTANT There never was such a demand for Blue Label Karo as today. Housewives everywhere are buying it by the dozen cans. Ask your grocer the price per dozen. For economy's sake buy it this way.
