J She Married an Average Man
BY ZOE BECKLEJT
WelJ. I think I am done for all time , with petty jealousies. I -wish I could get out on a housetop somewhere and preach a 6ermon to young wives, the giat of which would be: "Close your ears and steel your heart against every one who tries to cast suspicion into your mind against your husband Fight to the last ditch for your belief in him. Give him the benefit of doubt. Think of him as your other self. Never be less loyal to him than to the rest of the world. Assume that he. deserves your trust, for he generally does. And if worst comes to worst you will be the happier for closing your eyes to little wrongs." - I shall set the thing down here as a punishment and a lesson. Jim came home looking preoccupied, worried. He hardly kissed me. A woman in my condition of mind and body becomes a frightful egotist. She wants to be noticed, to be petted and lived and emotionalized over. Not so much for herself as in token of the wee other soul she is guarding. "Matter. Jimmie?" I hazarded Agatha Pardoe's horrid insinuation festering my mind. "Nothing at all; why?" "Oh. you seem absentminded and and cross." "I've had a hard day, Man talked to
me three hours hand running about a
, scheme. L,ots of money in it, maybe." "You need lots if what Miss Green
,says is true." Jim looked up from his paper with carefully restrained annoyance. "What do you mean, Ann? Have you heard from Rose Green?" "No, but Agatha Pardoe has. Rose writes she hasn't hurried to get a po
sition; that you've given her ample funds, and when those are gone there wil be plenty more to " Jim's look stopped me. He said nothing for several seconds, holding me silent by the white anger that shot over his face, My heart beat unpleasantly. I knew in that instant I had made an ugly mistake. His was not the anger of guilt, but of a man preposterously misjudged. Then he spoke, gripping with both hands the edge of the table I was setting and and leaning across it toward me. "Now you listen!" he whipped out. "I'm sick to death of- this ridiculous piddling talk about Rose Green and me. 1 told you I gave her money to tide her over till she got the job. It was you who insisted on my sending her to New York. You nagged and nagged at me till I sent her, and now you turn on me because I did send her in the ony way that was decently pos
sible. I won't stand for it, Ann! Once and for all I forbid you ever to speak of Rose Green to me again. That incident is closed, understand? I have important things on my mind. There, there, dear I didn't mean to be so harsh. I lost my temper, li'l girl .. Ann, for God's sake, don't cry!" I hid my face in his coat. "I'm I'm
so ashamed, Jim; so ashamed and angry at myself." "You needn't be, dearest. When two people love each other they hurt each other sometimes. Now, let's forget it forever. I've something real to tell you." (To be continued.)
Prayer Need of Race, Dr. House, Lecturer, Believes Thursday night Dr. E. L. House, who is giving a series' of lectures at the Reid Memorial church this week and First M. E. church next week, will speak on the "Drama of the Face," and do some character reading from the faces of persons in his audience, he
has announced. Thursday noon he addressed the National Automatic Tool Company men. Thursday afternoon his subject is, "Can There Be Spiritual Healing Today?"
Wednesday night Dr House talked on prayer and its power psychologically. ; . - - "The need of the hour is for a Christian physician who shall direct the mind and spirit of the patient. Patience and religion should go together and beyond the physician we should see God."
"The New Psychology does not deny prayer, for that would be the denial of the instinct of the race. There have j been cities without schools, without ;
libraries, without churches, but never even a hamlet without its places of prayer. Yesterday afternoon Dr. House spoke on "The Power of Affirmation."

Heart and Beauty Problems By Mrs. Elizabeth Thompson

Dear Mrs. Thompson: I wish to thank you for your common sense answers to girls and boys. I do not think to be a favorite one has to sacri- . (ice her reputation. I have never let f a boy kiss me and I don't think I 5 am thought any less of than if I let ' them spread their affection over me : where there is really none on either ' f ide. My utter disgust of mushiness 1 and my "stiffness," as my standards ; are called, have earned for me a reputation that I would not trade for
gold. I like all out-door sports, especially tennis and basket ball. I sing, play, sew. do fancy work, and in preference ; to any boy's company give me a good ' took. This letter is not meant to be an ; example of all that is perfect about me, but just to let my unknown friends know that high standards are never regretted if adhered to. DAWN U. ; You will not be sorry that you had , high standards when real' love comes. : I think, however, that you should find even more enjoyment in some young men than in books. Life is better than Action after all. Dear Mrs. Thompson: I am a lady 19 years of age and have been married for one year and two months. I loved : my husband when we married, but all ! my love for him is dead. He doesn't take interest in me and I am not int terested in him. Sometimes we do not - speak 10 words in one day. I am

Would my husband have to pay for it? AN UPHAPPY WIFE.
J You have no real cause for divorce, i because a little effort on the part of
' both ought to make you and your hus-! band happy together. There are many j
t things you could do to draw closer toj gether. One of the most helpful ways would be to read. If you spent only

one night a week in this way you would see a change. Instead of thinking of divorce, take an interest in your husband. Talk to him about his work and the time that he spends away from you. When he sees that you are interested, without a
j doubt he will take more interest in you. j You would have to talk to a lawyer j to find out whether your husband j would have to pay costs if you obtained
a divorce.

What You Will When You Will Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets Help Digest the Meal. Good food in itself is harmless. The ukual reason stomach troubles arise is due to faulty digestion brought about by overwork, sickness, overeating, late hours, etc. The beet way to correct, faulty stomach troubles due to digestive mistakes is to do what nature wants. All that nature usually needs In such cases is a little assistance to do this work. This is why doctors tell you to diet. Nature is then compelled to
aid herself. You do not then over-1
work her when she is already exhausted. Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablets go into your stomach just like food. They help digest food, and thus, when the next meal is eaten, the system is better prepared to do its work without
J assistance.
By following this practice many have corrected their stomach troubles, and have conquered the old "bugbear" of indigestion. Always take a Stuarfs Dyspepsia Tablet after meals or just before bed time. By doing this you will be acting wisely and playing safe. Go to your druggist anywhere and buy a box now. Price, 50 cents. Advertisement.
