' Bowling Notes

Fpltman's Tramps practically cinched the championshio of the City bowling league by walloping the second

place Coco-Colas two games out of three at Twigg's alleys Tuesday night. Double entry scores were frequently chalked up, the Coke score .sheet showing four while the Tramps also accounted for four. The A. S. M. five captured the first two games of their match with the Haberdashers. The last game was chalked to the Seeder credit via the forfeit route. Jones, of the Cokes, stepped forth in the race for the hat offered for individual score, when 259 maples were upset in his second trial. He also carried off high average for the evening with 218. Todd took the second score honors with 235, while Sherer took second average honors with 201. The scores follow: Coco-Colas. (Handiccap 90 pins. Player 1st 2nd 3rd Tl. Av. Gatherings From the World of Sport

Lightweight Champion Benny Leo-1 nard is now in California to begin

worfc on a motion picture in which! he is featured. Leonard will remain on the far coast for at least two months. He plans to take part in several bouts in San Francisco, Portland and Seattle before he returns east. Leonard is -a great favorite in California. The native sons always did think well of New Yorkers, as Tommy Murphy, Knockout Brown and Leach Cross can testify. Leonard they regard as the wonder of the age, even though Willie Ritchie did cause him plenty of trouble in a four-round bout the last time the champion was out that way. Slowness to anger seems to be the fault of Fred Fulton, says Jack Dempsey. When asked how he was able to polish off the lanky plasterer in sixteen seconds. Jack summed it up this way: "I realized- that Fulton was a good man as long as he was ahead in a fight, but that he could not stand the gaff. I knew that he was very eclever and that he had a dangerous left if he had a chance to use it. "So I determined to cut the daylights away from him at the first jump. He is somewhat slow to wrath, and likes to take it easy in the first round. "So I sprang across the ring at him, met him coming out of hi3 cor

ner,, smashed him over the heart with my right and then sent my left

to his jaw. The fight was over." Another Groh has come into the National league. Manager Fred

Mitchel of the Chicago Cubs has

League Ball or Not?

Exhibition Stockholders To Decide Very Soon Wether or not Richmond will have league ball this summer, will be decided at a meeting of the stockholders of the Richmond Exhibition, which is to be held soon. Public sentiment is in favor of league ball here and since the reorganization, of the Central League to an eight clut organization, Richmond has a chance to gain a franchise. The last meeting of the Richmond Exhibition Company was not a success only a small portion of the members turning out. A different meeting will probably be held this time, as the greater majority of the stock holders are said to favor Richmond having league ball.

Richmond Men Prove Fish; Win From Muncie m Richmond made a clean sweep of events from Muncie in the dual aquatic meet held in the Richmond "Y" pool Tuesday night, thereby gaining (he right to represent their district at the state meet at Ft.
