(Copyright, 1920, By The Wheeler . Syndicate, Inc.) He is the most devoted husband in the world ! In heart and in fact, he is perfectly loyal to his beautiful and attractive wife. (For the wife of the "Gay Deeeiver " always is beautiful and attractive. And he wouldn't exchange her for a whole bevy of fluttering squabs! But he'd die if he even thought you suspected this! Because, somehow. Having proved his prowess, and demonstrated his fascination for the susceptible sex. By marrying a "heart-wrecker." He is dizzy with triumph and thrilled with a sense of his own fatal charm. , And so, he goes about smiling mean
ingly at all of them. Patting Daisy on the shoulder, tenderly. Holding Mazie's hand as conspicuously as possible.
Squeezing Dolly's elbow, as he escorts her across the street. Kissing Polly under the mistletoe. Calling Molly "Dearie" and "Little Girl" over the telephone. And flirting outrageously, in the conservatory with Flora. Being careful, first, to choose a spot in full view of the next roomWhere everybody may gaze in and exclaim "What! That gay dog. Cholly, at the old game?" It is his secret conviction, that all women "would fall for him." If they weren't "too noble," or "too cold," or "too prudish," or something. And that each one of them is concealing a "hopeless passion" for him. And his wife discreetly lets him remain under this delusion. In perfect confidence, that she holds him with the ties that never can be broken ? With a leash that he wouldn't have broken for a million dollars! He is so happy, in his alluring vision of himself. As a "gay deceiver." That she wouldn't shatter his illusions for worlds! And not until the day when she places the wreath of purple immortelles at his head. Will she ever admit that he is a devoted husband i The most devoted husband in the world ! O yes! He is a "gay deceiver!" But it isn't his wife whom he deceives. It's himself And the "other woman!"

Heart Problems
Dear Mrs. Thompson: I am a young lady who loves to be admired, complimented and one who loves to have close attention. As a rule I have little trouble in winning the friendship and close attention of the men. It is sometimes difficult to keep away from men whom I do not care for, but on the other hand it is sometimes a difficult
task to keep their close attention if I care for them. My heart just breaks when they neglect me and I can't help but be sentimental. Please give me your advice on how to overcome that great failure and how to keep their close friendship. Perplexed. It has often been said "flee love and it will follow thee, pursue love and it will flee from thee," and this seems to be quite true in your case. You should have more will power and be more independent, and not show your feelings so plainly. Even though you
do care for a man you should not let him know it by your every action. Be more independent and remember that a man should make all advances. Dear Mrs. Thompson: I am a bachelor, and my mother, sisters and other women have taught me to hold a deep love and regard for womanhood. I have so far played the dready game of solitaire, partly from my inability to please, but more from a fear of poverty and possible failure to
provide, furnish and maintain a home as It seems to me a real home should be. My fear of poverty has made me parsimonious, from which. I degenerated into miserly stinginess." I have been told that . no woman loves a stingy man. I am now entering into the winter of life disconsolate and alone. Is there any hope for me? A. G.
You seem to realize your mistake and are aware of your faults, therefore there is hopes for you. Don't be stingy and miserly, get out and spend money and enjoy yourself. Spending money and doing things for other people will make you happy I am quite sure. If you spend money and have a good time, you will soon find some one who wishes to make you happy.
