Regular Habits Produce a Beauthul Complexion Daily elimination rids the system of poisons. Women should realize that
MANY women complain daily of their complexion; of their headaches and general ill .health, little realizing that the trouble is constipation. Women, too, are much mora subject to such congestion than men, and much more careless of it. The result is seen in lusterless, weary eyes, in sallow, pimply complexion, in lassitude, bad breath, and in that word so often used, "indisposed." At the first sign of these symptoms the "wise woman will take a laxative, and will see that the young girl and others in her care do likewise. Dr. Caldwell's Syrup Pepsin is the favorite with thousands of women because it is mild and gentle in its action and in the end trains the stomach and bowel muscles to do their work naturally without the aid of medicine. This combination of simple laxative herbs with pepsin, which can be bought at any drug store, is also a very sterling first-aid in colds, fevers and other sudden ills
that make it advisable to always have a bottle in the home. It is free from narcotics and safe for the tiniest baby. Jn spite of the fact that Dr. Coldwell's Syrup Pepsin is the largest selling liquid laxative in the world, then being over 6 million bottles sold each year, many who need its benefits have not yet used iL If you have not, send your name and address for a free trial bottle to Dr. W. National Thrift Day
Benjamin Franklin's birthday, Saturday, January 17, is most appropriate for beginning; the observance of National Thrift Week. Franklin was one of the founders of our republic. He not only preached thrift to the people but he also practised personally what he preached. Franklin started life as a poor boy, as an apprentice printer. He worked, spent less than he earned saved and invested his savings wisely. In due time these principles made him comfortably well-off. History has given Franklin an unassailable position in its pages by reason of the great principles of thrift he expounded and the wonderful services he rendered our nation in its early years. National Thrift Day has been instituted to remind the people of the necessity of living according to the principles of thrift, if they want to get the most out of life. Thrift means to spend less than you make. It means more than -that. It means to develop such resolution, such strength of character that you will jiot sacrifice your future and the future of your children by thoughtlessly spending all you make on the extravagances of the present. Thrift is a trade, as much so as carpentry printing, or running a locomotive. It is a profession, as much so as surgery, the law, or teaching. It is a business, as much so as merchandising, manufacturing, or banking. Yet it is the one universal trade, profession or business. Unskilled laborer, skilled laborer, professional man or woman and business man or woman can all easily master its principles and apply them profitably. Thrift takes the drudgery out of work and makes it a pleasure. Thrift faithfully practiced will increase your ability and earning power as well as develop your strength of character. Thrift will make, you financially independent. . Thrift will make you the master of your destiny instead of the slave of your inclinations. Thrift will help you obtain life's greatest rewards and blessings. The Second National Bank believes in thrift as sincerely as it believes in integrity or friendship. The thrifty citizens of this community contribute to the management of this institution and to its continued success. The officers of the Second National Bank know all the steps ahead of the thrifty from saving the first dollar of earnings to investing the surplus dollars of income from investments. They want to help you master the principles of thrift and offer all the facilities of this financial institution to aid you attain financial independence. Come to th Second National Bank where during the past fifty years thousands of men and women have received friendly counsel and expert guidance as they saved and invested.
