Darke county. : . . , : " ' Mr. Ammon waa president of the fair board of Darke county at the time of his death, which office he had held continuously ' the last several years. He also was vice president of The Farmers bank at Arcanum. For many years he had conducted a grain elevator and kindred businesses at Gordon. He was well known in Eaton and Preble county. - He is survived by his wife and two sons, Earl and Roy Ammon, of Gordon. Flory'a Buy Flax Mill. Following purchase, recently, of the old flax mill property, the Flory Ice company 1b Installing ice-making machinery In the building and it is expected the plant - will - be placed in operation late in March. The plant will have a daily capacity of 15 tons, wit' hadequate storage facilities. The company's plant, South Beech street, was destroyed by fire a few weeks ago. : Firm la Dlsaolved. Dissolution of the firm of Becker Bros., contracting carpenters, is announced, after an existence of 25 years or longer. Fred, Henry and Charles .Becker constituted the firm. They succeeded their father, the late Philip Becker, in the business. Plan fer Banquet. Plans for Preble county's annual Jackson Day banquet will be laid in a meeting here tonight in the offices of Attorney Hugh R. Gilmore, chairman of the banquet association. It is expected a tentative date for the banquet will be fixed. Chairman Gilmore is' expecting a large and representative gathering of the county Democracy at the meeting. Charles C. Webb of Eaton, Is secretary of the banquet association.. Gilmore Heads Post. Craie B. Gilmore will head as com
mander St. Clair post, American Legion, the present year. Other newly elected officers of the post are: Ad
jutant, Carney Landis; treasurer, Antonin Alford; chaplain, Albert Harris. The new executive committee is made up of Craig B- Gilmore, chairman; Dr. J. P. King and Dr. Turney.

of the post. Miles Sues on Account. Fred Miles Is suing Richard White in common pleas court to recover $388, alleged to represent an account. Miles claims he was a tenant on White's farm and that a sort of partnership existed in raising stock, crops, etc. He claims the money sued for Is for extra hauling and other work performed for White, and for various things he had bought for the partnership. Wife Gets Alimony. In the alimony action brought by Ida Kenworthy against Curtis E. Kenworthy, common pleas court awarded her a lump sum of $120 and $14 a week, until further order of the court. Kenworthy recently filed suit against ' his wife for divorce. The couple live near Camden. Brumbaugh Makes Address. Judge V. V. Brumbaugh addressed the members of the Preble County Postal Employes' association on "Uses and Abuses of Organization," at their regular quarterly meeting here Thursday night. Postmaster Earl Keselring, of Lewisburg, and F. E. Edmondson, of Camden, rural mail carrier, also addressed the meeting, which was presided over by Postmaster W. H. Bucke, of Eaton, president of the association.
The Red Cross degree will be conferred by Richmond Commander next Monday. The work will begin at 4 o'clock Monday afternoon. Supper will be served at 6:30 o'clock in the banquet hall. ' Officers will be Installed at the assembly of Wayne council next Thursday evening. committee was made at the last meeting. The committee declared that the finances of the aerie were in better condition than they ever have been in the history of the lodge. A surplus in
the lodge treasury was shown. MASONS Master Mason's degree will be con
