MISS CLARKE SPEAKS BEFORE CITY MINISTERS

Miss Ethel Clarke of the Social

Service Bureau addressed the weekly meting of thr Richmond ; Ministerial association in the Y. M. C. A Monday morning. She spoke on the. work of the bureau and outlined plans for the winter's activities. Her, J. J. Rae was to hare spoken on the "Junior Church," but was unable to attend the meeting. The talk whl be given next week. Conference of Church Workers for Worldwide Movement is Announced

Plans for a conference of 1.000 deleg-ates to determine a program of world activity by American protestantism were announced today by the Inter-church world movement of North America. The conference Is expected to decide to conduct a campaign to raise funds for a "great world-wide program for co-operative action by the protestant elements of the United States." Surveys made by the inter-church movement of Industrial, social and religious condltons abroad and at home during the last six months will be laid before the conference. The American survey has been made county by county. "The foreign survey covers Asia, Africa, South America, the principal islands and parts of Europe by country , and province. Secretary of State Lansing is among the. signers of the call for the conference which will be followed by meetings of denominational groups.

Graham. James F. Graham, 77 y

old, died at his residence at 110 South Fifth street, early Monday morning., from complications of diseases. The body was removed to the parlors of Jordan, McManus. Hunt and Walterman, - funeral directors. He -was -a! veteran of the Civil war, being a member of the Fifth Ohio Volunteer In-i fantry and the Richmond O. A. R, Post. Although born In Ohio, Graham has been a resident of Richmond for , a number of years He is survived by . three children and one sister. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

funeral parlors of Doan and Son, at 3 p. m., Monday. Burial was In the Centervllle, Indiana, cemetery. Mrs. Helms Is survived by three grandchildren, Mrs. Clarence Thompson, of Parish Illinois; Mrs. B. Cos tin and Mrs. Lawrence Faweett, of this city. She Is also survived by four cousins, C. W. Elmer, C. M. Wilson. Walter Wilson and Harry L. Wilson, of Washington, D. 0. " Cranor Funeral services for Rosanna Cranor were held from the M. B. church of Fountain City. nd., at 3 p. m., Monday. Burial was in Willow Grove cemetery. Hllterman Funeral services for Mrs. Benjamin Hllterman were held in St. Andrew's ohurch at 9 p. m., Monday. Burial was in St Andrew's cemetery. The Rev. F. A. Mr.-Sellars was In Richmond two years ago and at that time agreed to return to Richmond when the new organ was installed in the First Methodist church. Since that time he has toured' South' America and has given concerts in the largest cathedrals on the continent. Recently he haa played in several large churches In this country. Yesterday he played at the Park Avenue church. In Indianapolis. No admission will be charged

to the concerts here.

Vincent Nicholson, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. Edgar Nicholson, has landed in the States, after nearly a year's service with the American Friends' Service Committee in the Verdun district of France. Nicholson is in Philadelphia but will come to Richmond for the holidays. Francis Nicholson, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholson, who also has been in reconstruction work in France will sail for home shortly. .Miss Caroline Nicholson, their daughter, recently left for relief work in Germany.
