It has been several years since an Earlham basketball team has been -defeated by the representative's of an Ohio school and the same at Cedarvllle, Thursday evening, proved no exception, Earlham winning by the overwhelming score of 68 to 10. Coach Mowe bod expected consider able opposition. Tho Ohio team averaged several pounds lighter than the Quakers. ' Cedarville put up a better scrap than the score Indicates, but was unable to score a field goal until Mowe ' had sent In his entire oocond team. Earlham was unable to use the five man defense effectively on account of tho small floor, but tho "play a man" style was successful. b As usual Lawler was tho Individual scoring light tor the Quakers, several of his' shots being sensational.

The small Whites were victorious In two out of three games in the basketball contests staged in tho Garfield gymnasium . Thursday afternoon. School's team were the only defenders of the purple to emerge with the long end of the score, the game ending 4 to 3. Hart's quintet trimmed Hunt's five by a 7 to 6 count, while the Andersons and Wlcketts battled to a 2 to 1 score. Tho only points scored being by the free throw route.

Centcrville Quint Trounces Eldotado; Score is 58 to 14 Centerville further strengthened Its claim upon the independent basketball championship of Wayne county when the strong Eldorado quintet was snowed under a 68 to 14 score at Centerville Thursday evening. The visitors were outclassed In every department and only the good work of Motley saved them from a worse defeat. Simmons, center, and Bertsch, back guard, formed the Centerville scoring machine.

Sigerfoot Post to Give Trapshbot at Arcanum A trap shoot will be given by the General Edward Sigerfoos post of the American Legion, on the John Smith farm, adjoining the west side of the corporation line at Arcanum, Ohio, on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. The shoot will start at 10 a. m., each day and is open to amtaeur and professional trap shooters. Lunch and refreshments will be served on the grounds. A dance will be given in Ries Hall on New Year's Eve. at Arcanum and a special orchestra has been obtained.
