"FIDDLERS THREE," IS PLEASING COMEDY
By EMMA L. FETTA ' Musical comedies coma and their Jlnsftee so, but "Fiddlers Three" will prflbtbly llscer looser than usual with the two capacity houses that saw It at the Murray Theatre Thursday aftersoon and evening. For it was presented by clever people in an "exceedingly pleasing- way Its songs and dances nd remarks by Tom Dingle, comedian -were all quite up to power with the best musical "whirls' of the day
A disappointment to Richmond peo

According to the program Mile. TaMe Beige,- leading woman, Is from the
Royal Opera House in Antwerp. Cer
tainly she has a matured and rich snesso-soprano voice which ' showed cultivation and good handling. Her
speaking voloe was also good.
As Golds Varellli, Miss Edna Morn,
-a sprltely and pretty young woman,
played a hard part excellently. Mies
Morn 'was a good opposite for both Tom Dingle, as Sam Wrlgglesberry
and Horace Sinclair, who played the foolish part of Reginald Denby, Lord
Duffer, with more than roousn ability. Very pretty also wss Ethel Dwyer, as the diligent guardian of her overly youthful mother, Sussanne Foppltt, played cleverly by Katherlne Clare Ward. Leo Frankol as Carlo AndreanL violin maker, did Justice to a rather Immature role. A violin intermesso, played in front of the curtain by J. Rubiroff, was executed pleasing ly. The undivided single hit of the evening was the duet dance by Lay
man and Kling. Their diverting work
was swift and clever.

FORESIGHT Once upon s time some philosopher of the David Harem variety sat on a store box, whittled on a pine stick and observed that "Foresight was a darned sight better than hindsight" and this homely expression, handed down from generation to generation, has made and saved millions of dollars. Let's apply it now to the lumber situation and see where we get off. The great war brought about a lull in building operations which lasted well over four years. But the necessity for building continued just the same. Therefore production is fully three years behind actual needs. What does this mean? It means that when building activity gets fully, under way in 1920 there is going to be one wild scramble for material. As a matter of fact there is a scarcity of lumber right now. Production waited on demand for four years. Production can not possibly speed up by 400 and prices are going higher. For after all demand is the reliable price regulator. What is the solution from the standpoint of the consumer? There is but one foresight. Anticipate your late winter and spring needs. Buy now. Store if necessary. Avoid the rush and scramble which is certain to come with the opening up of spring demands. Have what you need on hand and, unless all predictions fail, save all kinds of money. Foresight Is a Darned Sight Better Than Hindsight in Any Contingency and Never Has This Age-Old Epigram Been More Applicable Than It Is to the Lumber Situation Right Now.
What to Give
The Gift to One that All Enjoy The gift supreme is one that the proud possessor can let Others enjoy. Such is the Brunswick phonograpix. And for that reason it is probably the most practical of all especially at Christmas. The Method of Reproduction The Brunswick Method of Reproduction is exclusive, scientific, simple. It does not require an expert to appreciate the color, charm wd exquisxteness it gives to tone. It opens up a heretofore limited world of record music
