PREBLE AUDITOR

WONT ISSUE ANY HEALTH WARRANTS

EATON, O., Dc. 4. County Auditor S. C. Hunt declares in a communication to A. W. Freeman, state commissioner of health, that he will refuse to Issue any warrants- on the county treasurer in favor of the health board of Preble county, which win come Into existence the first day of next January. The auditor's declaration was embodied In a reply to a communication received from Commissioner Freeman relative to the local county situation. Auditor Hunt stated he considered the $9,000 budget for this county as very excessive, in that the levies of the combined districts In the county

provide for only. $700 for health, pur

poses in 1920, and that in no instance does the levy produce anything near the sum to be retained for county

health purposes. Nor does the Hughes act provide a remedy for the situation he declared. To withhold the suxnB from the districts that are demanded by the health budget would be not only an Injustice, but would mean for many of them absolute bankruptcy, as some of them are now up to the rate limit and are not receiving sufficient money to conduct their affairs, which being the case it Is Impossible for them to borrow money or issue bonds, the auditor opined. Florysto Rebuild. On the fire-razed .alt e of the plant of the Flory Ice company a modern concrete building will be erected and the business re-established just as soon as possible, according to ' a statement made Thursday by Harvey and Harry Flory, heads of the company. The mass of ruins made by fire of the immense frame building Tuesday night still was smouldering Thursday, but plans were then being' formulated for clearing away of the wreckage. It

is not known at this time if any of the machinery or equipment of the plant that went through the fire can be salvaged. If It can, the loss will be reduced to some extent. While many theories are advanced as to the cause of the fire, yet Its origin has not been definitely determined and It seems certain It never will be. Apple Is Sued. C. S. Apple, of Gratis township, Is being sued in common pleas court by the People's Banking company, Lewisburg, for $1575, alleged to represent a mortgage note, which fell due last Monday. The note and mortgage allegedly were given for farming Implements bought from M. H. Markey, of Lewlsburg, the bank coming into possession of the Instruments. The mortgage, it Is represented, also included 10,000 pounds 6t Spanish tobacco of the 1918 crop. Trial of a suit brought by Belle King against John E. Voge will come up Friday In common pleas court The action involves money, the amount claimed by the plaintiff being $1010.10. Will Ask Gas Decrease. Parts, Marseilles, Monte Carlo; VenIce. Rome, Athena, Constantinople, Cairo these are a tew of the places Merl Williams, eon of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen B. Williams, of 1S3 North Eighteenth street, visited during bis recent sojourn in the navy, and because home "looked a trifle too good," he passed up a trip around Cape Horn and along the coast of Asia, and beat it back to the United States. "What Is my outlook on America now?" asked Williams. "We, and every country I have viewed, need most of all, leaders who have the good of the whole of the people at heart. Italy's tenacious desire to hold onto Dalmatia has been causing more trouble than you back here can Imagine. Everything Is on a basis of 'get what you can and you should worry about the other fellow.' Down In the Adriatic they call the radical Italians 'Bolshevik Italians,' but it was pretty hard to discern between them and the Italian government when you saw government food ships coming in with supplies for the apparent uprlsers." Williams is a former Richmond high school boy and well known here. He got his early naval training at Great Lakes two years ago; received his honorable discharge after six months' foreign service, at Charleston, S. C, last week, and arrived in Richmond last Friday evening. His tale is a fascinating one, which creates in the home-stayer, wanderlust Following his training at Great

Lakes in the gunners' BChool he spent some time at eastern naval bases and Bailed on the "George Washington," which was going over to get the president last April. From Brest he was transferred to Paris; from there to Marseilles; and thence overland to Monte Carlo and down through Italy. On later "leave" trips be saw Italy

from "heal to toe." Served on Austrian 8hlp. Then he was transferred to a confiscated Austrian battle ship, the "Radetzky" on which he saw several months service along the coast of Dalmatia and other disputed territory. American ships are still in the Adriatic, but Williams returned on the Olympla with a number of Yanks whose foreign service period was completed. While In the Adriatic the Richmond boy had regular leaves which gave him opportunity to see not only Dalmatia and Italy, but to go down into

Greece and Turley, and upon .one occasion to Cairo, Egypt "Everywhere I saw all the old things of .the past .ages flanked by some of the same sort of architectural wonders we have In America. Their main loss seems to be ruined, crops, and lack of food. I shall be strong for any Armenian and Syrian relief drive for I have seen some of their suffering. As for the Turks,'' they'll get along, I guess!" he said. Williams is' strong for home. "I wouldn't give a fortune tor the trip, nor' 5o to do it over again In the same way," he said. - One of the greatest disadvantages was the poor mail service. , Although his parents and friends wrote to him constantly he received only 4 letters during his six months

across, and while he wrote regularly

every week, and sometimes every day

when he was on leave, his parents re-

ceiveu Tmrj low jeiicrn iruui uiai. "That part is tough, for you want to know at least bow everybody is back home," said he.

"Gosh! I never knew before how good these little pork sausages were." Thus says the man who thought his

stomach was gone for all time, but

who tried the simple expedient of a Stuart's Dyspepsia Tablet after eating.

And with this tor a starter, he goes in for a cheese sandwich, a piece of hot mince p!e, eats ham and eggs

in fact he forgets his stomach and thinks only of the energy and good feeling that follow eating the foods that make most people ravenously

hungry even to think of them. And all of this without sour risings, no gas, no belching-and none of that

drowsy heaviness that so often follows Indigestion. Try these tablets after eating. They are used extensively wherever good eaters are found and are on sale almost everywhere In the United States and Canada. Adv.

THIS WEEK ONLY At the Store Named Below A 10-Day Tube of Pepsodent

A Way ft Daliaihy Teettlfci i To Safer, Whiter, Filmless Teeth

All Statements Approved by High Dental Authorities

See How Teeth Glisten When the Film in Gone The results of Pepsodent show clearly in white, glistening teeth. You can see them everywhere, for a million folks now employ it. You can see them on your own teeth when you remove the film. And that's the purpose of this ten-day test.

Film on Teeth Is What Wrecks Them Dental science has found that most tooth troubles are due to a slimy film. You can feel it with your tongue. That film clings to the teeth. It gets between the teeth, enters crevices and stays. The tooth brush doesn't end it The ordinary dentifrice cannot dissolve it So its damage is unceasing.

That film is what discolors not the teeth. It is the basis of tartar. It holds food substance which ferments and forms acid. It holds the acid in contact with the teeth to cause decay. Millions of germs breed in it They, with tartar, are the chief cause of pyorrhea. Also of many other troubles, local and internal.

Based on Pepsin Pepsodent is based onpepsin, the digestant of albumin. The film is albuminous matter. The purpose of Pepsodent is to dissolve it, then to constantly combat it But pepsin must be activated, and the usual agent is an acid harmful to the teeth. So pepsin long seemed impossible. What science has now done is to invent a harmless activating method. That method it employed in Pepsodent The result is a tooth paste which will do what nothing else hat done. And five years of tests seem to clearly prove that it opens a new dental era. Pepsodent has been submitted to every form of clinical and laboratory test Dentists everywhere have watched its effects and now urge its daily use. .This week we oiler a teat to you, and we ask you to accept it

Look in Ten Days We urge this test for your sake and your children's sake. Children have most to gain from cleaner, safer teeth. Try to avoid the troubles we have had. Present this coupon for a 10-Day Tube. Use like any tooth paste. Note how clean the teeth feel after using. Mark the absence of the slimy film. See how teeth whiten as the fixed film disappears. A book comet with the cample tube, explaining the results. Learn the reason for them. Compare them with the results of old methods. Then let your own good sense decide what method to employ. This test is of lifetime importance, both to you and yours. It has shown at least a million people the way to whiter, safer teeth. Someone in your home should make it Cut out the coupon so you won't forget

That is why brushed teeth discolor and decay. Why tartar forms and pyorrhea starts. You may remove the debris, but the real cause of tooth troublesthe clinging film is largely left to do its damage. Now dental science has found a way to combat that film, after years of searching. We ask you to accept a ten-day test and see the results for yourself.
