A Doughboys Ambitions and How They Worked Oat

Ambition has been waked into life in the breast of thousands of the returning soldiers. Ambition to better themselves in life ; to do something better than they ever did it before; to do something which requires more skill and intelligence and which in return will pay better than the things that soldier did before he went away. No experienced employer of men dislikes such a quality as this. He knows the value of it in his business and the ambitious man is the sort he likes to put on his payroll. v For example, one boy in Washington used to

no

at 9 o'clock and was throueh at 4:30, with

work on Sundays and a long vacation each summer. About all he had to do was answer a buzzer, run a few errands and sit in a cool corridor for the rest of the time, while Washington sizzled under a summer sun. He made about $900 a year and it came twice a month without any trouble. When he got back from France he had two service stripes on his arm, and a sergeant's chevrons. His job was waiting for him again if he wanted it. "But," he said, "I don't want it. I want to

all my life. Any boy can do that work; or a woman. I feel like a different man! I don't want to sit down in an empty corridor for the rest of my days and jump every time somebody wants me to carry a letter or fetch a box of matches." Needless to say his ambitions were realized. And thousands of others just like him are being placed in jobs. This re-employment work of the war department, under the supervision of Maj.

"I prepared breakfast for the family yesterday, then cleaned up everything and swept the house, which Is the first time I've been able to do such a thing in years," declared Mrs. Ordie Speed, who lives on Greenwood Ave., Richmond, Ind. "I have suffered from a bad stomach trouble. No matter how careful I was about my food, it disagreed with me, and gas bloated me up; aching pains would strike me In my lower bowels, and I felt like there was a big lump in my throat which I could neither swallow or spit out. I was badly constip ated and had to take some kind of medicine every night for the trouble. It wasn't long until my kidneys began to bother me and I had awful backaches. Although I have taken much medicine, none seemed to fit my particular case." "Every day I read in the papers about what Dreco was doing for people, suffering exactly like myself, so I got my husband to buy a bottle for me, and I believe the first dose helped me, for my stomach seemed to feel so !

Was on Verge of Nervous

Prostration Gains Ten Pounds and Ends Trouble. I One of the jpaost interesting of the many interesting statements regard

ing Tanlac was made by Mrs. Isabella Rowe of 517 West Walnut St., Des Moines, Iowa, in an interview, recently. Mrs. Rowe, who is a trained nurse of wide experience in relieving suffering and well known to the people of Des Moines, is only one of the great many in her profession, who after having realizes its remarkable power, have become ardent champions of the Master Medicine. When asked if she was willing for her statement to be published, Mrs. Rowe said: "Yes, indeed, for I firmly believe Tanlac has saved me from nervous prostration and I am glad to make a statement which may be of benefi:. to the vast numbers who are in need of such a medicine." "I had suffered from stomach and liver trouble, disordered kidneys and extreme nervousness for a year or more . My food would not digest properly and I not only suffered intense pain in my stomach after eating,

but my heart would palpitate so from the pressure of gas that I could scarce- j ly breath. In fact my whole body ; was full of pain and the small of myi back, especially, hurt me po at times i I felt like I would go distracted. I had lost a great deal in weight and even my friends were talking about! , how weak and run down I looked.

"I had tried maany other medicines before getting Tanlac, but nothing ; gave me more than a little passing' relief. My entire system seemed to! be broken down. I could not get but little sleep or rest and was right on the verge of nervous prostration. I believe I would have had to give up entirely in a short time if I had not gotten Tanlac. But now I am like a different person altogether. I can eat , just anything I want and everything seems to agree with me perfectly as I : never have any more pain, palpitation ' or any other symptoms of indigestion. I In fact, all my pain as well as the nervousness and that weak, worn out , feeling, is gone and I have also gained ! ten pounds in weight. Before taking Tanlac I could not hold out to walk a block, but the other day I got out and , walked fifty-nine blocks, and felt none the worse from It. I have never

known a medicine accomplishing such wonderful results as Tanlac. I don't believe there's another like it and it gives me pleasure to recommend it." Tanlac is sold In Richmond by Clem Thlstlethwaaite; in Greensfork by CD. Corine; In Cambridge City by Mr. Dean House; in Pershing by Sourbeer
