RICHMOND H. SCHOOL CONFIDENT OF WIN
Everything was eet for the beginning of the Richmond-Warsaw game at 1:15 at Reid Field. The Warsaw squad arrived on the 9:22 train.
Enthusiasm among the R. H. S. stu
dent body is running at fever heat
as a result of the "pep" meetings held during the week and the big High school-Earlham parade held Friday evening. The parade was over three squares long and consisted of Earlham students on one side of the street and R. H. S. backers on the 'other side. Practically the entire Earlham student body, including co-eds, turned out, while about one-half the High school was represented. Final practice was held by the squad Friday afternoon and the way the players went through the newly learned offensive and defensive plays, spells danger for the Warsaw outfit
Coach Rock Is placing especial reliance upon the R. H. 8. line, which has the same weight as the Earlham forward wall, 162. This is going to be bothersome to the Warsaw backs, for according to rumors, the upstate team relies chiefly upon a line of smashing attack. Richmond's backfield will average about 140 pounds, or a team average of 151. Preparations are being made to accommodate the greatest crowd Reid Field has ever held. Ninety-five per cent of the high school student body is expected for the game. The fence climbers and tree roosters have not been bothered by the guardians of the

Cider is King of Drinks Since the Great "Calamity' Apple cider is king of all beverages this season. Cider used to be a farm drink, but eince the great calamity it is drunk by many Richmond people. This year the farmer with an orchard uses every apple in the manufacture of cider, which brings him a handsome price in Richmond and other towns. Proprietors of the former saloons report that cider is much more popular than be'er-without-a-kick. Wayne county farm experts report a better than average crop of apples.

Friday evening,
The entire game was snappy and well played, with Cambridge City showing the better team work. It seemed as- though the locals were leading at the end of the first half, 14 to 8. The second half started with a rush, Cambridge hooking a long shot from the center of the floor, but Connersville came back and tied it up. Cambridge again annexed the lead in the last few minutes of play, only to lose when Hopkins, Connersville forward, located the basket for the winning counter in the last 50 seconds of play. It Comes From the Ability to Out Perform Others and in the Knowledge That it is a Fine Car Even Though it is Not Large That is Distinctive
One thing we can't forget in buying a motor car is the pride of ownership. The automobile is a pleasure vehicle and it spoils the fun to be hopelessly outrivaled by a car that is smaller and costs less to buy. And for the same reason there is a lot of satisfaction in having a car that, though it is small and its cost is less, does out-perform all of its c?ass and has few rivals among the large, costlier automobiles. That Is Why You Hear So Much of Essex Anyone who has ever driven much knows that the greatest delight, where speed is concerned, comes with . the ability to best a rival with extra bui-sts of speed. It is the situations which show a car's ability to out-perform others that give greatest cause for pride. And knowing that the Essex does excel most cars, even many that are lareer and that cost more, there is little wonder owners speak of it as they do. Essex Ovl'iy Didn't Just Happen The Essex performs as it does because It is built to the highest tyne of car standard. Its size and price has meant, no sacrifice in quality, durability or comfort. Every construction detail is com-" parable to one of the world's most famous fine cars. That is why the Essex is so speedy, so nimble and so enduring. It is why
everyone knows it as an utterly different ear than has ever been offered. As well attempt to judge the capacity of a man's brains by the size of his hat, as to determine what the Essex can do merely by its type or size and the fact that it sells for only a little more than other cars whose limitations you recognize. NcJe the Advantages cf Such a Car The Essex is not a large car, neither is it tiny. No space is wasted. No extra weight is used. Neither passengers or driver are crowded. They have plenty of room on the seats and for their legs. The size of the Essex gives it many advantages, including moderate cost and operating economy. And think how much more convenient to drive. It slips through traffic that a larger car can not negotiate. It can be parked in space that others can not squeeze into. It turns in a short radius. So Don't Forget Thb Fact The Essex in every particular, save in price and weight, is comparable to cars that cost much more. And it possesses the further advantage in economy that comes from its lighter weight. Remember 18,000 owners are telling Oof more good qualities about it than any Essex salesman can tell you. Essex owners will advise you to buy an Essex in either the five passenger touring, the sedan or the roadster models.
