DELEGATES TO MEET

The Central Labor Council favors the resolution Indorsed by- the state federation of labor at Indianapolis in regard to the formation of a new political party to be backed by organized labor In the state and the nation, at the regular meeting Thursday night. Vern Pentecost, president of the

local council, was elected delegate to

the convention of the new Labor party

which convenes In Chicago Nov. 22.

Lucius B. Harrison was the other

nominee.

The local council also decided to

write to Congressman Elliott and Sen

ators New and Watson, to get them

to protest against the section of the Lsch railroad bill that makes labor

organizations liable to the extent of

their funds.

Nine new delegates were taken Into

the council. Pentecost Wallops Mayor.

President Pentecost made a lengthy statement in regard to the new Labor

party in which he said in part: .

"It has been conceded that this is

the best way to get legislation bene

ficial to labor interests. In the past

it has been our habit to vote for our

friends and defeat our enemies. Now,

we must vote for ourselves.

"We want men who represent the

masses and not the few. and the ma

jority that are now in office are there in the interests of the few. It is time

for us to form some kind of an or

ganization."

He called attention to the results of

party support in the local administra

tion, pointing out that Mayor Zimmer

man had made the statement that the

laws could not be enforced when he said that he had ridden behind every one in the city and there was not one of them but that violated the motor speed law. Pentecost also said that the mayor tried to pet back on the good side of the people by staging a parade on Armistice Day. There was no call for a parade on that day, he said. Statements were made Uy a wellknown attorney that the labor council had good grounds fcr impeachment, said Pentecost, after characterizing the present administration as being "the poorest the city has ever bad."

Alfred C. Underhill was sentenced

to 2 to 14 years in the state peniten

tiary at Michigan City, and fined $100

and costs by Judge Raymond springer in Union county circuit court Friday morning, on his conviction on a charge of rape.

The sentence was passed, after un

derbill bad been denied a new trial

on appeal, by the court.

Friday that they would appeal the decision of the Union county court to the supreme court of Indiana, and Underbill's bond was fixed at $5,000. If the bond is raised. Underhill will

be released on bond of $15,000, covering two charges.

OLD ENGLISH RECIPE FOR CATARRH, CATARRHAL DEAFNESS AND HEAD NOISES,

DRAVER GIVEN PATENT Patents on a wheel and demountable rim carrier have been granted Emll Draver. of the Draver Brothers company. He will probably manufacture the carrier. Charles M. Mohler. of this city, has been granted pates ts on internally packed water space joint cylinders and motor base?.

If you know of some one who is troubled with Catarrhal Deafness, head noises or ordinary catarrh, cut out this formula and hand it to them and you may have been the means of saving some poor sufferer perhaps from total deafness. In England, scientists for a long time past have recognized that catarrh is a constitutional disease, and necessarily requires constitutional treatment. Sprays, inhalers and nose douches are liable to irritate the delicate air passages and force the disease into the middle ear, which frequently means total deafness, or else the disease may be driven down the air passages towards the lungs, which is

equally as dangerous. The following i formula which is used extensively in

the damp English climate is a constitutional treatment and should prove especially efficacious to sufferers here who live under more favorable climate conditions. Secure from your druggist 1 ounce of Parmint (Double strength). Take this home and add to it pint of hot water and a little granulated sugar; stir until dissolved. Take one tablespoonful four times a. day. This will often bring quick relief from distressing head noises. Clogged nostrils should open, breathing become easy and hearing improve as the imflammation in the eustachian tubes is reduced. Parmint used in this way acts directly upon the blood and mucous surfaces of the system and has a tonic action that helps to obtain the desired results. Tbe preparation is easy to make, costs little and is pleasant to take. Every person who has catarrh or bead noises or is hard of hearing should give this treatment a trial. Adv.
