SALE NETS $3,100 FOR FRANK G00K

Frank E. Cook, who has been farming the Calvin MIddaugh place, a mile northwest of New Paris, decided to remove to Indianapolis and so invited all his friends to his sale. The invitation was very generally accepted and the buyers present on Friday afternoon disbursed just about $3,100 in exchange for his wares. The sale was set for 12:30 and the odds and ends were quickly disposed of, following which came the tools and implements. A two-row Deere corn plow sold for $51 and a mower brought $34. W. Cohlee, living near Campbellstown, secured a fine draft team of "bay mares after some lively bidding, at $425. A gelding sold to a neighbor for $125. Bud Norris Eecured the cream of the cattle offering at $109, for a family cow and calf. A few bows ranged at from $48 to $51 and eoms good shoats brought from $22 to $24 pf r head. Thirteen acres of corn in the field went an average of $50 per acre, a slightly higher average than corn has brought at some recent sales. Same choice oats, about 25 bushels in all. sold at 90 cents, the top in this vicinity for a long time. On vocation of the place by Cook one of the Mlddaugh boys will take possession and will farm it next year. The sale wa3 cried by Tom Conniff and Walter Farlow was both clerk and cashier.

Boundaries of Lutheran Synods are Changed Representatives of six Lutheran synods at a meeting held in Chicago Friday re-arranged their synodical boundaries. The Rev. F. A. Dressel and E. M. Haas of the First English church represented the Olive branch synod. Under the new arrangement the Olive branch synod will retain its present boundaries, including all general and general council Synod churches, and will hereafter be known as the Indiana Synod, of the United Lutheran church. The present boundaries of the Northern Indiana Synod will be the same as heretofore, but will be known as the Michigan Synod, with the proviso that as soon as the state of Michigan has 25 parishes, the Indiana churches will be dismissed to the Indiana Synod. The Northern Illinois, the Central Illinois and Southern Illinois Synods were combined into the Illinois Synod. The Chicago Synod of the general council which overlapped all this territory was absorbed by the other synods. Another session of the commission will be held in January to adopt a constitution.

Day Nursery Campaign for Waste Goods is Completed The waste collecting campaign is on the home stretch and will be concluded shortly. When the entire rounds of the city have been completed, the total amount of material collected will be weighed and sold to raise funds for the Day Nursery of Richmond. Judging by the standard of the collections already taken up, there can be no doubt that a substantial amount

will be realized. Local residents I

have responded generously in their eagerness to help the Day Nursery. Approving comment has been general in regard to the campaign. The plan is sanitary, efficient and effect

ive. In a short time, several tons of j useless material have been removed i from the homes of this city, reducing the fire menace . and making homes! more sanitary, and at the same time 1 a goodly sum of money will enrich

the treasury of the Day Nursery.

Cards on the Table You can't make any storage battery last forever that's a fact. You've got to keep it filled with water and test it, just like a tire has to be kept filled with air, or it will cost you money. Some day if you have an ordinary battery it's sure to have to be re-insulated, no matter who made it. But if youH buy a Willard Battery with Threaded Rubber Insulation, you'll get clear away from the biggest cause of battery troubles. The insulation will probably last as long as the plates. Drop in and ask us any question you can think of. We're here to give you the kind of help, service and advice that make friends. Richmond Electric Co. 1 105 Mam Street Phone 2826
