piSHAW, CAREY OUT
OF FRANKLIN GAME; BLOW TO QUAKERS "No more scrimmages will be held by the Earlbam football squad until the game with Franklin, Saturday
afternoon," announced Coach Mowe i Wednesday morning. Scrimmages have put quite a dent into the Quaker prospects, as Hinshaw, half back, has received injuries that will keep him out of the Franklin contest. , Wednesday and the remainder of the week will be spent by the squad in working out new plans of offense made necessary by the absence of Hinshaw from the backfield. Carter or Dixon will probably be used to fill the hole. The Earlham line will be outweigh- ' ed by about 30 pounds to the man in Saturday's game as the Baptist forwards will average around 200 pounds while the Quakers reach 170. To counteract this disadvantage. Coach Mowe has devised a new method of defense for Earlham. " Franklin Doped Strong Carey, varsity center, will not be able to get into the game for at least another week. His withdrawal was another blow to Coach Mowe as the Quaker mentor was banking on
Carey's bulk to help stem the Frank
lin tide.
Robert Johnson will be used at
center. j Franklin has one of the most powerful elevens tn the state and St. Xav ier, of Cincinnati, and with whom the Quakers will close the season, defeated Franklin 9 to 0. Butler, whom the Quakers will meet next Saturday, has been going good in recent games, and will make Earlbam put on a fall head of steam. t. Franklin will arrive In Richmond

FRANKLIN PREPARES FRANKLIN, Ind., Nov. 5 The Franklin eleven again took up the daily grind Tuesday and went through one of the hardest days practice experienced this fall. A snappy north wind put pep into the players with the result that the Thurberites played the best brand ef ball exhibited for some tiny. Following upV the faults of the DePauw game, Thurber is spending most of the time on offensive plays. However, he is developing a mora compact defense, determined to have a line through which the Earlham backs will have difficulty to finding a hole. With a 200-pound line the Franklin
primary defense wiH probably give the Quakers a stone wall to climb, and incidentally furnish Franklin confidence in the team.
Old Hi Basket Bailers to Play at Muncie The Old HI basketball team, composed of former Richmond high school bas
ket ball players, who have organized att Independent team, will open the season Wednesday evening by playing the Muncie Independents, at Muncie. The Old Hi team has been practic
ing in the Y. M. C. A. for the past three weeks, and includes Clarence Porter, Ernie Porter and Wendell O'Neal, forwards, Shel Simmons, center, and McBride and Howard Webb, guards, in the line-up. Bulach and Monroe are listed as substitutes. The above team is capable of playing the strongest independent football teams in the state, as all of them were members of the Richmond high school first teams.

Dayton school on account of the huge
amount of beef In Rock s eleven. Stivers has a light but fast team, which depends almost entirely upon an aerial attack. Open formations are also used. Although Richmond is loaded down with beef, the players have speed in addition and the only thing that kept them from cleaning up this year was the lack of experience.

The kind that is hard to shave Of all the ways ever tried to make hair grow one way that is N known to succeed, is to rub it. Daily massaging will grow a luxuriant head of hair also a beard!
Your beard grows heavier and tougher every year gets constantly harder to shave from that daily nibbing of your face, with fingers or brush, before you shave. Now you can shave without rubbing Use no brush - no lather no hot water
The secret of a good shave is in getting a smooth, even stroke of your blade. But that is difficult because there are thousands of empty spaces between the stubbles of beard on your face. These empty spaces offer no resistance to the stroke of your blade. While the hair stubbles, however soft you have made them, do resist the blade. The result is uneven resistance. The razor blade jumps across the empty spaces and jolts up against the hairs "pulling" and scratching your face.
The only method here-tc-fore Jcnown, has been to try to make the hair stubbles softer and softer and softer. But that isn't good for your face. Softening your beard with hot water and soapy lather also makes your face very tender. The roots of the hairs, under the skin, absorb the hot water and swell up into little knobs of irritated skin that the razor cuts off! With some men, this condition is so bad that their faces are raw after shaving. But now here is the way to prepare your beard for easy shaving and soothe your skin at the same time.
A great discovery that ends all shaving troubles Stiffen your beard and fill the empty spaces with Barbasol

The hairs, softened by hot water, and with their natural oil taken off, turn down against the face under the stroke of the razor. The b!-ade cuts through the length of the hair stubbles causing the "pull" that so many men suffer from in shaving. To get a dose shave is difficult, and requires going over the face several times, increasing the irritation.
Magnified moot iftoaianj Vtnm crow motion of The Short-Cut Shave with Barbasol You put Barbasol on your f ae with the ops of your fingers gently spreading a soothing, cooling film of Barbasol over the beard stubble. Then shave. Barbasol fills the empty spaces between the hairs, with its own soft, firm substance offering exactly the same gentle resistance to the blade as the hairs themselves. This stiffens the resistance of the hairs so they stand up against the edge of the blade,- which cuts straight across the base of the hairs close to the skin. You get a smooth, close tbave no "pull with fewer strokes of the blade.
Shave without lather no brush no rubbing!
Barbasol has no soap, or soap ingredients like alkali in it Barbasol dos not lather. It requires absolutely no rubbing. You simply squeeze a little Barbasol from the tube apply it gently to your face and then shave immediately, and quickly, with delightful after-shaving skin comfort.
After shaving, just wipe your face of with a damp toweL Do not use any soap to wash off the Barbasol. For Barbasol itself is the most soothing of face emollients. It cools and heals the skin. You will enjoy the dean, pleasant-feeling effect of your Barbasol shave all day long!
