After the forty-eight hour wet spell in the corn belt it has become very cold; this conditions corn. Argentine has sold another cargo of corn to New York on basis of $1.30 delivered. Country news indicates an early corn movement and farmers believe prices are to stay down. Against the week end on Monday holiday (Columbus day) locals are slow to press the market. stand still Thursday and everyone turned out enmasse to Join In the Welcome Home celebration and thus pay homage to the Randolph County boys who did service to their country, in camps and overseas. The local chapter of Sons of Veterans had charge of the day. A free dinner was served to all soldiers and
sailors of all ways. County Superintendent L. L. Driver, made the address of welcome, which was responded to by Captain Ernest E. Chenoweth, of this city, who has received the rank of major, for work done overseas.

Big Crowds at S. 3. Out of a population in Winchester of five thousand, about fifteen hundred attended Sunday school and about twelve hundred attended church. Simmons Dies. A. L. Simmons, one of the publishers of the Portland Dally Sun. died at the Jay County Hospital, from Injuries sustained on Jury 9th, when he was caught beneath a printing press that was being installed in the office. Licenses to Wed. Marriage licenses have been Issued to Elihu M. Moody, 22, Muncie end Bertah Bales, 31, Farmland; and Lester W. Huffman, 36, Moo re land, and Gussie M. Ledbetter. 23, Parker. Aska for Divorce. Carey Walker has filed suit for divorce from Anna Walker. They were married October 20, 1906 and separated in December, 1913. Walker claims the defendant left him without cau3 - vvhen their child was five years of age, and that he has repeatedly asked her to return. The plaintiff asks for a divorce and custody of the child. Champ Is Arrested. Marshal J. M. Fletcher arrested
Sylvester Champ, at Union City, on a charge of grand larceny. He was brought to this city and placed in JaiL Champ Is said to have stolen 20 bushels of corn, valued at $40 from the farm of W. T. Wilson, east of the city, which he brought to this city and sold to Samuel Dean, a liveryman. Asks Possession. Suit for possession of property was filed Tuesday in Squire Coat's Court by Charles Daugherty vs. Earl Wood. Guilty of Assault. Oscar Simmons had a hearing in Squire Coat's Court, Tuesday, on a charge of assault and battery, on Will Tharp and was found guilty. His fine and costs amounted to $10.80. Ora Bortner filed suit dn account, Monday against Lonnie Silvers.

(By Associated Press) WOOL MARKET UP. BOSTON. Oct. 10. The Commercial Bulletin tomorrow will say: "While there had been no large volume of business transacted, the market seems to be in a more healthy condition and there is rather more inquiries for all classes of wool. Fine wools of fair to good staple are firmer, while the medium wool would seem to have approximated a trading level. "Manufacturers are disposed to await the government's actions, scheduled to open November 10. The goods market is hardly changed."
