BUILT 1,463 SHIPS DURING WAR (By Associated Press WASHINGTON, Oct. 7. American shipbuilding efforts commenced with the war, have resulted to date in the construction of 1,468 vessels of a total deadweight tonnage of 8,109,059, the Emergency fleet corporation announced today. During the present year, 891 vessels, or 4,796,537 deadweight tonnage were delivered. A governor for gasoline tractors has been designed that can be adjusted within a wide range of speeds.
