Virginia made the poorest Bhowing during the month of August, the condition falling from 81 to 59 per cent, reducing the possible production more than 2,000,000 pounds. Kentucky's condition was reduced 7 per cent during August, but It seems probable that the yield will not be far short of that of last year. The Ohio crop held up fairly well during the midsummer period, but will be considerably short of last year, conceding that the official estimates were correct for the 1918 crop.

Weak, tbin poople men or women are nearly always nervous wrecks; thus cono'lustvely provln.tr that thinness, weakness1, debility and neurasthenia are almost invariably dua to nerve starvation. Feed your nerves and all these symptoms due to nerve starvation wiil disappear. Eminent specialists state that one of the best thin.trs for the nerves is an organic phosphate known amonnr drugKists as Uitro-Phosphate, a five-grain tablet of which should be taken with each meal. Being a genuine nerve builder and not a stimulant or habitforminf? drug. Bltro-Phosphate can be safely taken by the weakest and most delicate sufferer, and the results following its use are often simply astonishing. Bv strengthening th nerves, weak, tired people regain energy and vigor; thinness and angularity give way to plumpness and curves; sleep returns to the sleepless; confidence and cheerfulness replace debility and gloom; dull eyes become bright, and pale, sunken cheeks regain the pink glow of health. CAUTION Bitro-Phosphate, the usa of which is Inexpensive, also wonderfully promotes the assimilation of food, so much so. that many people report marked gains of weight In a few weeks. Those taking it who do not desire to put on flesh, should use extra care in Voiding fat-producing foods. Adv.

RUSSIAN NOBILITY LIVE IN POVERTY

(By Associated Press) LONDON', Sept. 26. The Russian colony in London is deeply interested in stories which have been coming the past few days from neutral countries concerning the fate of those who once were mighty in their country. In every instance they tell of hardships, occasionally of suffering and always of poverty and distress. In Helsingfors there Is a young prince, little more than a boy who is practically barefoot, with no prospect of better Bhoes when winter comes. The soles have disappeared and as the story goes, he limps painfully as he picks his way over the rough cobbled streets. Living in a flat which is little more than a tenement in the same city is a Russian nobleman of high rank who, with fortune and position gone, makes his living as a baker In other parts of the city scattered among the meanest and poorest sections, may be found scores of persons whose names were not so long ago very well known in the highest socie ty of Petrograd and Moscow, Some of them work, while others manage to eke out a precarious existence from incomes whose source is entirely unknown to their friends Their once fashionable clothing is rapidly going to pieces and like the prince with the old shoes, they know not where the replacements are to come from.
