NEFF AND DYE FUNERAL RITES HELD IN PREBLE
Both Men Were Prominent in County Two Boys Are Runaways. EATON, Ohio. Sept. 16. Funeral services for A. Clark Neff, 75, lifelong resident of Camden, and civil war veteran, were held Monday afternoon at his late home in Camden, where he died Friday night. He retired about seven years ago from the grocery and bakery business, in which he was engaged, for many years. His wife died about a year ago. He is survived by two sons, Charles R. Neff, of Camden ; Leo Neff, of Washington, D. C. and two brothers, Webster Neff, of Camden, and J. W. Neff, of Washington, D. C. Dye Is Buried. Funeral services for the late Edmond S. Dye, 61 years old, lawyer and prominent resident of Eaton, who died Friday night at the family summer home at Bay View, Michigan, were held here this afternoon at his late home and were in charge of Bolivar lodge, Masons, assisted by the Rev. Charles A. Hunter, of Barberton, former pastor of the local Presbyterian church. Burial was in Mound Hill cemetery. The wife and three sons Burvive. The Preble County Bar association met Monday morning and selected Attorneys John Risinger, A. M. Crisler and H. R. Gilmore a committee to draft resolutions of respect. Commissioners Take Office. County Commissioners Chris Wair, William B. Kline and Elwood Coblentz, elected last fall, took up their duties Monday morning. No particular ceremony marked their entrance Into the office. The board of commissioners is now Republican. The new commissioners succeed William v Johnson, Republican, who served three terms of two years each; H. A. Hinea, and Henry Busch, Democrats, who each served one term of two years. The old and new boards held a joint session Monday morning, at which the old board wound up its business and then gave way to the new board. Hambridge-Sliver. Announcement is made of the coming marriage of Mrs. Isaac Sliver, widow of the late Isaac N. Sliver, and William T. Hambridge, manager of the Hotel Rosman. It is expected the wedding will take place October 9 in the Presbyterian church. No invitations will be issued. "Sim," as Mr. Hambridge is familiarly known, and his bride-to-be are being showered with congratulations by their many friends. Boy Runaway Caught. Russell Taylor, 13, of Hamilton, was taken from a westbound Pennsylvania train here Sunday evening by Sheriff George Jones, upon request of his step-father, C. H . Schwab, made through the Hamilton police. The sheriff kept the lad in his living apartments in the courthouse until Monday morning, when he was placed on a train and returned him to Hamilton. The lad had a suitcase loaded with wearing apparel. He said he had

alienated by Mrs. Charles and that she and Kenworthy have been untuly intimate. Two Divorces Granted. Two divorce decrees were granted Monday by Judge Risinger in common
pleas court, the decrees being granted
to wives. Josephine Goodwin was divorced from A. L. Goodwin, upon grounds of extreme cruelty, and was awarded exclusive custody of their minor child,
Mary. The couple married March
22, 1900. Catherine Coning was divorced from Jacob H. Coning, upon grounds of extreme cruelty and gross neglect, and was awarded custody of their five minor children, until further order of the court. The couple married December 13, 1891. Free on Assault Charge. Caroline Mattix, of New Westville, is at liberty upon her own recognizance for her appearance here Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock in the court of Justice L. T. Stephen for a hearing on a charge of assault, filed against
her by Rosa Hennemyer, a neighbor. The warrant was served on the woman by Deputy Sheriff Chester Wehrley when she appeared in Eaton to learn if there was going to be anything doing in the matter.

Woman Hurt by Auto; Driver Doesn't Stop Mrs. Eva Connell, who resides with her daughter, Mrs. Charles Hutson, 211 College Avenue, was hit and thrown several feet by a swiftly driven automobile which turned from Eighth to Main street as Mrs. Connell started to cross the street, about 5:30 Monday afternoon. Although the attending physician thought there were no bones broken, Mrs. Connell was suffering from severe bruises, and what may prove to bf internal injuries. The driver of the automobile stopped his car, but did not, it was said, offer any assistance. Another autoist took Mrs. Connell home.
