LOWER PRICES ARE RESULT OF OHIO CAMPAIGN Hundred Indictments Returned Against Profiteers H. C. L. Falls 10 Percent.
COLUMBUS, O., Aug. 23. When five individuals and four corporations were indicted today by the Franklin County Grand Jury for alleged viola
tion of the Valentine anti-trust law In l-rice-fixing on bread, the number of those accused amounted to almost 100. Indictments now are pending in all of the larger centers of the state and In some of the smaller ones, as welL All the charges concern actual necessities, such as bread, meat and milk. Only three days are lacking to complete the first month since announcement was made of the determination of the state to end profiteering if the practice could be ended. Canvasses in all Ohio cities show that the cost of Jiving has been reduced approximately ten per cent, and that the general understanding in favor of Btill higher ;prlcea for all commodities has been succeeded by a trend toward lower prices. Delays Are Eliminated. Legal delays have been eliminated through speedy hearings and trials, end the most important case now la pending In the State Supreme Court. This is the Columbus Packing comipany litigation. It is possible that this
Tnay be decided within a short time, as the case now Is before the court
completed, and the only Question Is the method for disposal of the "out
lawed" pork loins, as the violation of the cold storage act was admitted by the defendant. With the reluctance of Federal authorities to act, the state may follow up a victory in this case with speedy action in all the other Instances In which hoarding has been charged. Upon the announcement of a decision lavorable to the state, scores of suits would be filed immediately, and if the public Interest dfd not require immediate disposal of the products they could be kept as a public reservoir against higher prices, reversing the "stabilizing" process that has governed the past.

London Smoke Horror Attacked by Engineers (By Associated Press) LONDON, July 14 (By mall). Coal scarcity and the uncertainty of t$e supply for the coming winter are combining to turn the attention of engineers to some system of smoke consumption which, while saving fuel, will serve to cleanse London's murky atmosphere. To the present no practical system that will come 'Within the purse of the average householder ha been devised, but experiments along that line axe being carried out by a number of corporations. London uses soft coal in preference to anthracite and within an hour after six o'clock In the morning, when London servants arisR, the air is filled with long spirals of smoke from countless chimneypots. The sky soon is entirely obscured. Judge Brutally Beats Friend of Negroes AUSTIN, Tex., Aug. 23. -John R. YOUR HOUSE Is worth more today than it was a year ago. It would cost you a lot more to rebuild it if the fire demon got it. So why not increase your insurance? Some are adding a third, others more. It is the wise thing the safe thing to do. It takes only a little accident to turn the biggest house into a pile of ashes. (Copied from August Good Housekeeping.) The Guarantee
This ping- is guaranteed to operate under adverse conditions, such as excess oil, rich gasoline mixture, and moisture, without fouling;. The porcelain is guaranteed not to crack or break from heat, as the insulator or porcelain core is protected by the conical shell from heat, oil, soot, carbon and moisture. Foul Proof Spark Pint

The Impossible Has Been Accomplished Good bye all the annoying spark plug trouble. The Foul Proof has solved the problem and the name tells the story. It is FOUL PROOF. After several months work and planning night and day the new Plug is ready for use and many are realizing the greatness of this New FOUL PROOF PLUG.
Five Points That Makes An Absolute FOUL PROOF Plug 1. This plug will fire under heavy charges of gasoline without causing the motor to load. 2. It will fire under excess oil conditions indefinitely without fouling. 3. It will fire charges containing moisture without shorting. 4. It has a large sparking surface the full circumference of the shell which will never burn off. 5. The electrode bar is one-eighth of an inch in diameter, which will never burn off and will not allow the spark gap to get out of adjustment.
The Air Cooled Foul Proof Spark Plug The air cooled plug can be used in any motor, if desired, it is especially recommended for hard service. Where a plug is subject to intense heat, as in trucks, tractors, motorcycles, racing cars, motor boats, aeroplanes, or any pleasure car requiring a plug to be used for heavy duty service.
Four More Points On Its Foul Proofness 6. The porcelain core will not crack as it is protected from heat. 7. The spark gap is adjustable to any desired width. 8. It will not pre-ignite, as the lips forming the spark gap in the conical shell are kept cool from the pressure in the air chamber in the plug. 9. Carbon will never form an arc across the spark gap, as the pressure when released from the air chamber expels from the spark gap the deposit of carbon after each explosion.
Here Is a Description of This Wonderful Plug
The Conical shell which is carried on and is a part of the center electrode, when secured in place in the porcelain core, leaves a space between the top or large end of the conical shell and the lowet end of the outside shell which is the spark gap. This gap being adjusted to any desired width by removing the terminal nut and the hex electrode nut, the conical shell and the electrode bar can be removed from plug. The electrode bar carries thin copper washers on the top portion which fits on the small or upper portion against shoulder or between shoulder on electrode bar and porcelain, by removing one or more of these washers narrows the gap, placing one or more of these washers widens the gap. Extra washers for this adjustment are carried under or between the electrode bar nut and top of porcelain. The conical shell or lower portion of the electrode protects the porcelain from heat, moisture, carbon and oil, thus allowing this plug to operate under adverse conditions. In practice this spark will occur at but one point which would be the point of least resistance, but as the circumference of the rims forming the spark gap are susceptible to forming a spark, it is evident that the location of

the spark is susceptible of change from one point to another thereby permitting a wide latitude of spark surface before it would become inoperative and the change of position of the spark would tend to clean another point which had previously become foul. Any oil that would be thrown upon the spark plug cannot possibly adhere to anything but the conical shell which is evidence that it would run down to the end or point of the conical shell and drop off before the following explosion, in case any oil should cling to the conical shell, the pressure of the following explosion against the oil on the conical shell will force the oil away from the plug. It is also evident that the inside of the outer shell will form a comparatively large chamber whereby when explosion occurs in the combustion chamber the pressure thereof will raise a pressure in the spark plug chamber equal to that in the combustion chamber, when the pressure in the combustion chamber is instantly released, it is evident that the excecss pressure in the spark plug chamber will equalize itself by forcing itself out through the spark gap, thereby tending to cleanse and cool the lips or rims forming the spark gap which enable this plug to function under adverse conditions.
