HURLERS MAY BE TROUBLESOME TO MANAGERMORAN With Only Four Slabmen Pat Expects Difficulties Reds Confident of Victory. NEW YORK. Auar. 13 With both
teams full of confidence. New York And Cincinnati start Wednesday afternoon on the biggest series that the Reds have participated in for a number of years, for on the outcome of the three days' series, during which Mx games will be nlaved. Manarer
Moran's chances of driving in another
pennant winner are balanced. The Reds hit New York last night, and with the exception of six first string pitchers, an asset that is vi
tally Important in such a series as Is now pending, they have all that the Giants claim, and a little more, including a lead on the Giants of four
and one-half games. Throughout the circuit, fans and players aro picking the Reds to ccp the penant, and figure on the six frames at the polo grounds during the next three days to decide the Giants' fate for the season. The Reds have had little success this season on the polo grounds, winning but one contest in four played. They "have split even with the Giants on the other games played, however, and Manager Moran hopes that he will be able to even the score all around by the double header .series. Four First String Pitchers. With the exception of his pitching staff, Pat has entire confidence and expects little difficulty in holding Protest John and his crew. The Reds have only four first string pitchers, and these probably, will be used up during the first two days, leaving the final day of the contest one of doubt as far as pitchers are concerned. Fans are looking for Rube Bressler to enter one of the contet. Rube was withdrawn from the outfield staff of the Reds last week, and started training to get back on the hill again. He la anxious to pitch, and claims that he will show the Giants a few things about twirling that they have yet to learn. Manager McGraw has five hurlers. leaving only one game without a slated pitcher. Toney and Nehf. both difficult 'men for the Reds, probably will pitch Wednesday, leaving Barnes, Benton and Douglas for the second day. Any of the five can be expected to trouble the Reds, but Manager Moran hopes that his swatsmlth will be able to care for a couple in at least one of the games.

SIX SIGNED FOR CITY FOOTBALL
Six additional candidates, Cy Pitts, Pete Kinsella, Stanley, Paul Schepman, Moul, and Ike Kennedy have signed up for the Quaker football squad now being organized, which brings the total number up to seventeen. Manager Taylor says that a meeting will be called within the next few days, but before this meeting is called he would like to see several more names on the list as he would like to have a squad of at least twentytwo men. Men desiring to sign up, leave their names at the Engle and Eaton cigar store.
DR. LIGHT ATTENDING MEETING AT WAWASEE
Hod Eller, Ring, Ruether and Sallee After these, Pat doesn't care what happens to the ball games. Ruether and Sallee are booked to open the double header series with New York at the Polo Grounds, and Eller and Ring will probably perform tomorrow. These four compose Manager Moran's first string slabmen, with the exception of Fisher, who has been turning in several good games. Luque and Bressler may also have a chance at New York.

The great Napoleon once said: "My ideal woman is not the beautiful-featured society belle, whose physician tries in vain to keep her In repair, but the matron who reaches middle age In complete preservation, that woman Is rendered beautiful by perfect health." To attain such health in middle life a woman must guard against those Ills which drag her down and produce nervousness, headache, backaches, sleeplessness and "the blues." The standard remedy for such conditions is Lydia E. Pinkham's Vegetable Compound, which for forty-five years has been restoring women to health and strength. Adv.
